Question about Kenmore 64852 Electric Dryer
The problem that I am having with my 2 year old kenmore is that it would run for about 20 -30 seconds then shut off and I cant turn it back on for about 5 minutes when I hear a click. Then it does it again. I have check for lint to see if that might be the problem but it is lint free. I got another dryer. It is another brand all together and it is doing the same thing that the kenmore is doing.
Pwolf, looks like the problem you?re having is not with the dryer. The vent line is probably clogged up, which caused the dryer to overheat. The hi limit thermostat opens up which shuts off the dryer. After it cools down and closes, you are able to restart the dryer. To make sure this is a vent problem, you can disconnect the vent hose behind the dryer and run it for one load with it disconnected. If it runs fine, then the vent line needs cleaning. Usually it needs special equipment and is very hard to do yourself. It would cost you around $90 to get a professional out to do it for you. If it doesn?t run with the hose disconnected, then you have to provide the complete model number, which is located on the door frame. Gendos....post back.

If your dryer is not drying like it once did or if you just have not taken the time to give yourself a clean dryer in a long time then you need to do that. At least once a year the dryer cleaning should take place. Lint build up in the dryer duct is one of the main causes for your dryer to fail.
