Few yers old. Having problem turning it on even with Kodak batteriesfully charged. Sometimes the lens will extend when the light next to the viefinder is green. Most of the time it is red and nothing works.I suspect there might be an internal short that is draining the battery. Too expensive to repair. Any onecan you recommends another Kodak model (medium priced)? I have the Kodak dock and the charger and feel at least will not have to buy the dock for another brand. Thanks

This might help. My Kodak C340 crashed on me, yes just like a computer running on Windows 98. I was making a short movie for the first time and after I got done with the movie, I couldn't turn the camera off. So I open the battery compartment and then the camera went off with the lens extended. I closed the battery compartment again, but then it wouldn't come back on. The lens was still extended and the screen was still black as if it was dead. I change the batteries but nothing. I couldn't turn it on. Finally I noticed an icon of a person running on the selection knob. So, I turned the knob to that person running selection and the camera came back on. Everything is okay now. Whew! I guess that must be the reset selection. Give it a try and hope it helps.

My friend had dropped my camera while handing it to me. The lense is stuck out and it wiggles. When I turn it on the camera comes on for half a second and shuts off.

Hi. The lens has been knocked off track and probably damaged since it was dropped.

If the lens is stuck at an angle it could possibly be repaired by snapping it back into place. Otherwise you will for surely need to have a new lens installed.
You can purchase a Lens for around $15 - $29 on Ebay. Sometimes they
offer free installation.

Kodak EasyShare C513 lens cover will not open fully automatically. tap on side of lens and the baffles will open and camera works. turn camera off, lens retracts and baffles close. have tried blowing any...

I had a friend that ran into the same problem, but his solution is not what I would recommend but it did work for him. He used sewing machine oil and applied a tiny amount less than a drop to the crevice of the camera body and the outer lens housing, his was stuck in the retracted position, and he got it going again without a problem.

Dropped Kodak Easyshare M1030 camera and lens is stuck on zoom and will not come on.

Above is the link of Kodak's Helpdesk wherein you can browse for some tip. Since the camera was accidentally dropped, I believe you need to consult this matter to your nearest Authorized Dealer.

Thank you.

Good luck. You won't get a trade in and repairs to heavy water damage will be worth more than the camera. Open all doors, compartments for batteries/cards, and usb ports etc and let it air dry on some paper towels or something like that. DO NOT TRY TO TURN IT ON for at least a couple of days. If it works after that count yourself lucky.
