Paper feed I have a lexmark 2400 series x2470. whenever I print something the paper only feeds from one side. so the paper doesn't even make it through the printer and it ends up printing on the drum.

Every copier tech has given me this same rhetoric. Don\'t open a ream of paper until you need the ream of paper. Once doing so, opens the remaining pages up to humidity. Ideally, you want to keep it boxed and protected from the elements. Once opening the paper, fan it from top to bottom. Never put the new paper on top. Take whatever paper is remaining and place that on top on the new paper. Buy the good stuff. HP makes solid paper. They just do. Using lesser quality paper simply jams up copiers/printers especially true with recycled paper. If you find a brand that\'s works for your budget and printer stick with it. If you are jamming a lot, switch to a higher quality paper. Lexmarks are particularly funny when it comes to the tray guides. They have to be in the groove exactly as specified which is usually etched in the hard plastic tray. Otherwise, you have to go in and specify what type of paper it is, because the tray guides can\'t tell the computer what size paper you loaded.

Good day Sir, If paper misfeeds or skews, or multiple sheets feed or stick together, try the following solutions.

1. Load a smaller amount of paper into a printer and make sure you use paper designed for inkjet printers. The paper is not used or damaged.
2. Before loading paper the first time, squeeze and slide the paper guide to the left side of the paper support. Load the paper vertically against the right side of the paper support.
3. Adjust the paper guide until it rests against the left edge of the paper.
note: make sure the paper does not buckle when you adjust the paper guide. to avoid paper jams.

have a nice day!

Please check your ink levels:
1. Click Start > Programs or All Programs > Lexmark 2400 Series 2. Select All-In-One Center 3. Click Maintain/Troubleshoot. 4. Select Device status and ink levels.
If all ink levels are still good, proceed to cleaning the cartridge nozzles.
1. Click Start > Programs or All Programs > Lexmark 2400 Series 2. Select Solution Center. 3. Click Maintenance tab. 4. Select Click to fix horizontal streaks.
Your printer will begin to print, forcing ink through the cartridge nozzles and clean them. Try to print your file again.

Whenever I try to print something I keep getting

It's a possible hardware issue in the feeding mechanism. Try to remove the cartridges from the printer then close the cover. Remove the sheets of paper. Unplug the printer from the power source. Wait at least 30 seconds before plugging back the printer to the power source. When the printer's ready, reload the cartridges. Load some paper but don't overload as this may send wrong information to the printer. Have the paper guides lightly touch the sides of the paper, thus avoiding shifting of paper when it feeds. Let it print an alignment page and do some test prints from computer. If problem persists, I strongly suggest you contact Lexmark Technical Support to further investigate the problem. Thanks.

Have lexmark 1200 series will not feed paper i

turn on/off, unplug, plug in2_bing.gif, should reset configs.

take all the paper out, put half as much back in.
check the rollers to make sure no paper or particles are stuck preventing from accepting paper. although you did this, there might be a small particle hanging you up. I have experienced this before. see if both sides have cogs that catch the roller, one might be offset?

go to applications folder for your computer, dbl click printer icon for make of printer. check settings. print 'test document and clean cartridge heads', this should ensure proper printing formats.

lastly, go to web site of printer model and check site for trouble shooting if this does not work above.
hope this helps and good luck

Printer 2480- my printer is pulling paper only on right side

Try this :

1. Turn the printer off and open the access cover.
2. Look for any obstructions in the paper path and remove them if necessary. (It is possible to move the carrier assembly with the power off.)
3. Turn the printer on, load some paper, and press the Form Feed button. (On the X83, press the Select button.)
4. Watch the paper as it feeds through and try to determine where the jam is occurring.
5. Check to see if all the rollers are turning.

If all the rollers are turning, there may be something in the feed path that you can't see. Go to step 6.
If not, there is probably a feed motor or a gear problem and the printer may require service.
6. If the paper is jamming under the carrier assembly, you may be able to fix it using the manual feed slot.
7. Turn the printer off.
8. Take a #10 envelope and feed it through the left side of the manual feed slot until it comes right through the printer to the back of the exit rollers.
9. Move it up and down first, and then slowly move it over to the right side. If something is stuck under the black guide plate, this may work it loose.
