Question about Universal Remote Control MRF-260 Barrier-Free Addressable RF Base Station Remote Control

Open Question

Not sure why I can't get my MRF-260 to operate with my components

I just purchased the MRF-260 base station which is compatible with my MX-850 remote and to control 4 components (receiver, cable, dvd and tv). I have set it up according to the directions and for testing RF signal it works just fine. I have no interference with my other components and the status like flickers when i press the components keys on my remote. However, i cannot get it to function appropriately when i close my entertainment rack (to hide my components) which leads me to believe im not picking up the RF or IR signal. I attached the emitters thinking that would resolve the issue and even so when I push the remote key to cable for instance, I see the base station light up and then the emitter light that's in front of my component but it wont change the channel or turn that device off or on. I believe I have the programming correct in on my MX-850 setting up each component from line 1-4 and then having both the base station and remote set to ID#1. I have tried to change my programming to be RF only per each device but then when i do that I can't change any component even with the remote facing each component. any suggestions

Why Am I Unable To Program The RCA Remote Control To Operate My Components

Why am I unable to program the RCA remote control to operate a component? Why am I unable to program the RCA remote control to operate a component? If you are unable to program the remote control to operate a component, review the following information:

If none of the programming procedures work, the universal remote control may not be compatible with your components, based on the type of infrared technology and the age of the components. Some RCA universal remote controls will only work with components manufactured after 1990.

If you are testing the remote control after you have entered a code, you may be too far away from the component or you may not have the remote control aimed directly at the component. Because the remote control uses infrared (IR) technology to communicate with components, there must be an unobstructed path between the remote control and the IR sensor on the component.

Code Entry Methods
If the Direct Code Entry method was used to enter the codes for your brand and the unit is still not functioning properly, try one of the automatic code search methods instead. During automatic code search, the remote searches for the correct code to program.

For the remote control to know which component you wish to operate, you must put the remote control in the correct mode by pressing the corresponding component button.

Combo Units
To program the remote control to operate combo units, such as TV/VCR’s, TV/DVD’s, or TV/VCR/DVD’s, use the combo codes in the Code List to program the individual corresponding component buttons. Once programmed successfully, the TV button controls the TV functions on your unit, and the DVD or VCR button controls the DVD or VCR functions, respectively. The codes in the combo section should be tried first, using the Direct Code Entry method on the TV and DVD or VCR buttons. If this is unsuccessful, use one of the Code Search methods to program your combo unit.

Make sure the batteries are new and properly installed.

I had to get a new TV HD receiver. How do I get it programmed to my MX-850 remote? It will not turn my TV receiver on when I push the on button. I have to manually turn on the receiver.

What kind of receiver did you get? DirecTV, Dish, or something else? This remote comes with software and cables you can connect to your computer. Once you install it, and connect the device, you can program it to connect with your specific electronic components. You may need your existing/original remotes to help get everything set up, but usually that is a one-time process.

Hello and thank you for allowing me to help you.

PLEASE reward the ACCEPTED best answer

******There are several ways to configure your setup, we will cover the most cost efficient way first****

1. You can purchase a TV TUNER PCI CARD or AVG GREEN OR BLACK PORT (SHORTER) to plug straight into your WHITE COLOR slot
2. All you would need is a TV COAXIAL cable to plug straight into the available coaxial cable slot AFTER installing the software
3. You will know that your install went well when you do not receive any errors
4. You will more than likely receive a remote control with your new card

More expensive method

1. Purchase a USB BASED TV TUNER with an available coaxial cable port to plug your cable tv line straight in. This should also include a remote.
