Question about Dell WL6000 Computer Speakers

2 Answers

Crackleing for the last couple of months the speakers are crackleing really bad even when the pc is turned off and the speakers are left plugged in. It seems to be coming from the centre one under the moniter, I've had them for just over 1 year. Are they mendable or do I go out and invest on a BOSE set up, I only use them for listening to music so a 5.1 is a bit unnessasery

I have exactly the same problem, turning on/off resolves occasionally. They have been working fine for over 12 months now. I can see several other posts on various sites but no solutions :(

No its not EMI.- I have them too and mine are little over a year old. Have noticed the faint smell of electricial burning. Checked the sub and the amp/pwr supply in there must be slowly breaking down. I cant turn my speakers up past 25 percent volume and the crackling/hum gets very bad, We should all be looking for replacement at this point.

Hi I can only hear what is being said on one of

Check your battery pack. Swap with the other known good radio and see if the problem clears up. If so, you have a bad or not fully charged battery. Static or crackling can be a sign of a bad or poorly charged battery.

Also, you may have a mic or speaker issue. Check for debris or something covering the holes over the mic and/or speaker.

Lastly, you may have a speaker problem. Try using an earpiece or headset with the radio to see if the problem does not exist in the audio device. If so, you have a bad speaker. (Be certain your radio is turned off when plugging or unplugging any audio device. )

Best regards.

Why do my right speaker inputs cause fuzzy sound?

HI KYLE...

I think I have experienced this problem before with my Sony stereo set. It could be a sign that your receiver's amplifier is giving out. Best that you can do is bring it over to an audio repair shop for a checkup. If my suspicion is right, you're gonna have to replace it with a new one. Don't worry, amplifier chips are not that expensive.

And lastly, when any part or component is replaced, be sure to ask the technician to give it to you. You can keep it for your reference.

A couple of things to think about. If the radio is new, then the speakers may be bad. If the radio is not new and purchased from someone else, the radio may be bad. You are making sure the volume is turned up right? You did use a harness when hooking the radio up right? That is something I strongly recommend.

This seems like at cables have gone bad or either the connections in the speakers went bad. Its best to replace them unless you know how to disassemble and re-soder the connections.

Cerwin Vega ve-28s subwoofer and new Cervin Vega 2-way satellites

I bought my VE-28s and it did exactly that crackled, cerwin replaced part in amp but few months later problem persisted. they then replaced entire amp assembly and its been fine. i really push it to and its been fine. to test it, unplug the connection from amp/ reciever and see if it persists. if so its the sub, if not its the amp/ reciever. dont dump it, these subs really crank and can put out some deep loud bass.
