Question about Janome Memory Craft 5700

1 Answer

No memory card with my 5700

I bought my machine several years ago from a store going out of business. Of course, there were no classes. I have used the machine only for minimal sewing, but now wish to try to use the embroidery function. However, I don't know where to begin. I have read the manual, and it refers to a memory card that I assume may have come with the machine. I cannot find it and wonder if one did and possibly I lost it somehow during my move to Florida. Is it possible to obtain the card and also how to get some hands on instruction. I don't believe there are any Janome dealers close to me. I live approximately 30 minutes south of Ocala, Fl., and about an hour north of Orlando. Any help you can give me would be appreciated.

My wife has a Janome 5700 Memory Craft sewing machine along with a number of Janome memory cards containing embroidery designs. Is it possible to transfer the designs from these memory cards to her Windows...

I don't have a 5700,mine is a 9000 but the cards that came with mine are a plastic aprox 1 inch square. This machine came out before there was any type of interface to connect to a back up system ie; USB or firewire. I would assume that if you can download new patterns from the internet, than you could back them up.If your machine does not have that capability then you will just have to find new memory cards for you machine online and order them.

Where can I get memory cards for my Janome 9000

I own the MC9000. I bought the Magic Box plus and I download designs from embroidery websites and transfer them to the memory card (ATA PC card) that came with the Magic Box. It is rewritable so I just switch out designs as I please. I bought the Magic Box about 5 years ago and paid $200 for it. It is super easy to use. I hope this helps.

Can I purchase blank memory cards for Janome 5700 machine? Alternatively, what software or digitising programes would I need to make my own designs to use with this machine?

I would like to buy a blank memory card for my 5700 or have you developed a converter for it so I can still use my machine but put new styles on it.

Please let me know how you can help me

Not for that model, its a few years old now. But U-tube has several videos on newer Memory Craft models which may be of help

Also www.sewing.about.com gives lots of good general 'how tos' for sewing machines, and dressmaking.

I bought a janome 5700 a while ago - havent really used it yet and I'm sure this is a stupid ques - I dont have a manual how do you lower the presser foot?

try here for the manual http://www.sewingmanuals.com/

To lower the foot look for a black, square tab you would use your left hand to move up and down
If its anything like my janome 8000 and 9000 you'll have heaps of fun with it!

Looking to purchase a Janome Memory Craft 5700 - refurbished

Yes, you have to have the customizer to download patterns. They are not being made by Janome anymore, so you have to find one on the web. The 9000 also uses memory cards. These are not made anymore either so the same applies- try the internet. And make sure you get the ones that fit the 9000 or the 5700. Best luck -I have the 5700 - a stripped down version of yours. linda

Mc 5700 problem

Hi,

You don't have much info here to go on. I take it that it embroiders fine otherwise, ie on the built in designs. Is it a Janome card? Does it do it on a particular card / design? Have you changed the bobbin thread that you use? Check the top tension - even though it is 'automatic', it does require adjustment at times. Have you changed / using stabiliser that you use? Is the bobbin correctly threaded?

Check these things
