Question about Office Equipment & Supplies
Pull down the front cover where it says Brother, the manual feed input is behind that panel (above the main input tray)

The 'MP' Tray is located on the front fold down tray. It is a Multi Purpose tray for one off jobs that require small quantities of differnt papers that you might want to use. Suppose you need to print a photgraph and teh paper trays are loaded with A4 normal paper, but you require a glossy page, just drop teh front [panel pull out the paper holders and slide in the glossy paper. It saves you having to unload and reload the already loaded trays. A good thing!

Go into printer menu settings and reset printer to default. Shut it down, turn it back on, should reset and print from main tray. This helped my problem. 8.31.09

SOURCE: Will not print
Try to power down the printer (including unplugging it from the wall) then take out the paper trays. From there, reseat the tray guides (so pull them all the way in, then all the way out). From there replace the paper in the tray, and then re-align the guides to the paper. Plug it in, and then try a test print.

Easy one. Open your tray back up and make sure that the paper settings are reflecting the type of paper that is in the tray. The times that I have seen the issue that you just described, the paper setting were off... thus causing this issue.
If that does not work. Powercycle printer. When it comes ready go to the Paper Menu, then to Default Paper source. Make sure that setting reflects the tray that you would like the printer to print from.
Hope that helps.
