Uninstall the old version first and reboot your computer, now install the new version, usually this works without a hitch. If you still have issues contact Webroot online and talk to customer support.

SOURCE: Per Webroot spysweeper need to find option program & update definitions?

To open Webroot, double click on the icon on your desktop or find it in the start menu. If it is the first time you are running the program, it will prompt automatically to update the definition file. However if it not the first time, once the program has opened click on "Home" on the left hand side of the open window. There should be two options-check for program updates or check for definition updates. Simply click on check for definition updates and you should be good to go :)

SOURCE: Problems webroot

Launch Webroot. Click on HELP, ABOUT and write down any legal information or serial numbers. If this is a legal purchased product contact Webroot about the problem from this site:

http://www.webroot.com/En_US/consumer.html

If this expired or problematic, you can uninstall it and load AVG FREE EDITON version 8. Do a search with these words: AVG FREE EDITION DOWNLOAD. and download the program. It's free for private use.

My Webroot Icon is not showing on my Computer. I did just renew the spy sweeper.

Try checking it in Program files.

Also Click start programs and see if you can find the folder named Webroot.

Once done, you can right the icon, and select send to desktop which will create a Shortcut icon for Webroot.

Hope this helps

I try to run the scan but it keeps on saying that my scan is disabled how can i fix it because my computer is vulnerable thats what pops up i never had issues with webroot but this is frustrating

It looks like your licence has run out and they're asking you to renew.

If this is the case, go to Filehippo.com download and install AVG free, also Microsoft security essentials. Both are free and will cover you.

Then uninstall the webroot stuff.
