Question about Printers & Copiers

I just downloaded the installation for my office jet 5600 all-in-one and at after rebooting it wants me to "sign up now". When I try to connect to it I get an error message and it is in a loop. I can't get it off my screen

Can you boot to safe mode?

Restart and press F8 and go into safe mode.
Once there go to START/RUN and type in msconfig and hit ENTER

Uncheck the HP start up entry. It will reference sign up or something like that.

Reboot and that loop should be gone.

Try installing the latest printer driver - the original printer driver may be corrupted.

My office jet G85 has the message "remove and check color


Check and make sure you drivers are up to date. You may need to un-install the printer software and remove the printer in the control panel. Then reboot the computer,install the software(check and see if there is updated software if so download it).Then install the software and usually gives you instructions on when to connect the printer and drivers should be installed by software. Also make sure that when you use the print screen that you have the default printer selected and that the office jet is the default printer. It may be set to print to Microsoft one note for example.

When attempting to install HP Officejet 5600 All in One printer, I was notified that a "Fatal Error" occurred during installation process prior to connecting to USB port on computer


Sometimes when installing new software, if you get fatal errors, that could be a sign of virus activity on your computer. I would download one of the many free antivirus programs and scan my computer either that or download the Trinity Rescue Kit CD and boot from it and run (I believe) option #6 "Virus Scan non interactive" That will scan your computer for viruses while the operating system isn't running.

If you're in a hurry, save to disk or USB memory stick, and dash to Kinkos / Staples / Business Depot or any other copy center, to get it printed out.

If you've got time otherwise, shut printer off, then on, and try and print a test page using the buttons on the printer.

If successful, then proceed to the PC. Shut down, reboot, and check the printer status. If good, try to reprint.
