SOURCE: blinking monitor power button and flashing image

I buy and sell these monitors (Dell E17FP) the problem is with the transisters (Q739, Q740, Q759, Q760) they short out and the monitor will just blink on and off. You have to desolder them and test them with a simple battery and light circuit. The reason they blow is because of the dirty solder joints by the transformers. If only on pair of backlights work the problem maybe transisters Q751, Q743. I home this answers your questions.

SOURCE: LCD monitor no display - flashing power button

Hate to criticize and then not help out. I have this exact same problem with one of my E152 Dell Displays. I have read around and this whole line of displays seemed to have trouble. I found many issues like this and no solutions.
So, I like to tinker and tinker i did. I opened the case, removed the screen and went straight to the power supply board where I found two burned out capacitors.

Found a great source for replacement parts and instruction to replace the caps at BadCaps.net
Let you know how it goes.

My Samsung SyncMaster 931BW monitor has been working fine for me. It was working fine last night turn it back on this morning and the screen is just black. Reset computer checked the cords and power outlet...

Try it with another PC to make sure is is not the PC video card problem, also chek the cable. If it still does not work, then you will have to open it up.
If you are going to DIY and have proper tools and know safety precaution then please read on:
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply (they should be replaced in a set), blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed SAMSUNG monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

First check the vga cable, video cards of your pc.if all of these are ok open your LCD monitor check the power board for boated capacitor, open secondary pico fuse or fuseble resistor, replace it with the same value. The defective lcd panel can cause of dim dispaly but the power is ok.

You may have shorted out transistors in the inverter circuits, common problem.

Dell monitor 2005FPW keeps on flashing

I was having the same problem.
I solved it by replacing the two 47µF capacitors on the power supply/inverter board.
I actually removed all the capacitors (around 13) and all checked out fine except for the two 47µF.
I forgot to take pictures or even write down the capacitor label on the board.
They are located close to the logic board connector
