Question about Proview PS 776 Monitor

1 Answer

Blank Screen..Will not power off

The monitor started blanking out(black screen)for short periods while in screen saver and was slow to wake up. Then the blank/black time started to get longer before it would wake up. Now it will not show a picture at all. The green power light is on, but no picture and nothing happens when pushing the power button. I have tried the flash light...No picture visable. I thought it might be the cable but it woul still displa the menu..right? Any suggestions?

The flash light test only works with lcd monitor as they have back lights. Double check the connections again, also, if you can borrow a monitor try it on your pc, it may be your graphics driver needs to be uninstalled and re-installed, but you will need a monitor to see.

Appologies accepted, but have you tried booting up in safe mode pressing (F8)on boot up, see if any picture without card drivers, if same probs, got to be a monitor repair job.

SOURCE: Blank Screen..Will not power off

Have you checked your video source to ensure that this isn't a problem with your PC or whatever you're displaying on it? Try using a different display and see what happens. Try putting this LCD on a different PC and see what happens. If indeed it is this screen then it could be something as simple as a loose cable. Start simple and work from there.

Computer powers on but screen goes off unexplainably while power still on.

Laptop computers have power saver features that will blank the screen after a period of no input. Default on these can be as short as one minute. Users can change these settings to avoid screen blanking, especially when doing thins like watching movies or streaming video. The power saver feature may be different, and thus the screen shut off timer may be different when the unit is plugged in.

Created a 300 picture slide show on my pc. the screen will go blank after 30 minutes and i have to hit the return key or touch the pad. Is this a sleep setting issue or kodak?

I suspect you have a screen saver set up that blanks the computer screen after 30 minutes.
If you are running Window XP, right-click your mouse on the desktop, choose Properties, from the Display Properties dialog, click the Screen Saver tab, then in the Wait box, increase the amount of time before the screen saver activates. Click the OK button when you are through.
Good luck,

The monitor goes blank after a few min, it comes

Are you sure that your computer isn't just going into power saving mode? Not sure what operating system you have but go into the screen savers tab or video properties and find out how your system is set up for power saving It may be starting before your screen saver does so the monitor would just go black.

Periodically the page on screen goes blank

Windows inactivity for screen saver is set. If you want it to deactivate.

On Windows desktop screen, right click mouse a pop up box will show. Select "properties" or "personalize", go to screen saver. Uncheck the box with " on resume, display log on screen". And on screen saver box select NONE this will unhighlighted the inactivity time and the logon screen. Hit apply and then ok button.

This will deactivate the screen saver.
