This can usually be cause by a faulty touchpad on the palmrest - contact dell and if is still under warranty they will replace it - if not under warranty ask for a current price and see if its economical to purchase a new one.

cheers

D600 cursor goin crazy

Hi There,
This is a common issue with Dell D-series laptops. Try re-installing the driver for the touchpad, updating your BIOS, and cleaning the touchpad with some rubbing alcohol and a q-tip.
If none of that works, it's officially broken, and you can replace it or just use an external USB mouse

My mouse touchpad is locked. Keeps showing a diagram on screen with a red line thru the touchpad??

There may be a button towards the top of the keyboard (one of the ones with LEDs next to them) that turns the touch pad on and off. Otherwise, there is usually a keyboard combination (the Fn key in the lower left + one of the F1-12 keys) that can toggle it on and off as well. Otherwise, in the lower right hand corner, if you plug in a mouse, you should be able to right click the touchpad icon and re-enable it.

Ppo1l dell latitude laptop mouse pointer keeps moving to top right corner. doesn't stay stationery

Your mouse pad is probably damaged.

Try to boot a different OS like Linux and see the behavior.

if the problem persist, you can disable the touchpad and use external mouse instead.

Dell Latitude 620 has problem with screen .. static lines appear and upper right hand corner goes white or black

Sounds like your screen is taking a poop! Either that or the ribbon that goes to the screen is wearing out. Take to local pc repair shop.

I would like a manual for the latitude D610 keyboard to know how to use the symbol that are highlighted in bleu

In the lower left hand corner of your Dell Keyboard -- you will see a Blue Key labeled -- "Fn". This key allows you the use of ALL of the other blue labeled keys on your keyboard. You must press the FN key and the other "blue" key at the same time for them to work.

The keys on the right side of the keyboard with the blue numbers on them are controlled by the Numlock key and Fn key. The light at the top of the keyboard near the power button, with the number "9" inside a picture of a lock, will be lit if the Numlock is enabled.
You may need to press the Fn key to type numbers even if the Numlock is turned on. There is a setting in the BIOS called Enable Keypad and if you set it to By Numlock you will not have to hold down this key to type a number.

If you are still having trouble with these keys, please see the general keyboard troubleshooting guide

Moving cursor.

well there is a few things that could possibly be happening. if it is a touch pad or a wireless mouse something like a cell phone sitting close enough to them could be causing some interference. the second one is that you could possibly have the mouse keys turned on where you can control the mouse with the keyboard.
