Programming

In the computer programming industry, employers are much more interested in what you you know and how well you do it than where you learned how.
Though college degrees in computer science may be favorable inclusions to your resume, the most important important factors in in the employers eyes are experience, knowledge and skill.
Even reputable colleges recommend gaining programming experience prior to enrolling in classes. Whether you choose to earn a degree or not, you can succeed in the computer programming industry by gaining significant project experience.

Practice with free online software.
You can gain preliminary experience in your spare time, right from home.
Many types of online educational software exist that allows you to create applications, music, art and interactive games and stories.
Simply register an account, download the software and create your own projects to add to your portfolio.
Colorado State University's computer science department recommends Alice and Scratch.
Enroll in computer programming school. Colleges across the country such as ITT Technical Institute and Coleman College provide comprehensive training and experience in applications, computer programming and software scripting and many offer work placement assistance.
You can also enroll in a number of free online computer programming courses to gain knowledge and practice.
The Education Portal career and college website includes links to ten free online computer programming courses that include practice projects, online textbooks and virtual learning materials.

Become affiliated with professional software development organizations.
Certain software development agencies provide training and mentoring programs to promising individuals that include participation in real-life business projects.
This method of mentor-training is often preferred by hiring managers over self study courses. Register with a software development agencies such as SQL Boot Camp to gain professional programming experience add to your portfolio while you train.
At the time of publication, the cost of enrollment in SQL Boot Camp is $499 per participant.

Work for free.
In the novice stages, offer your services free of charge to businesses and nonprofit agencies in need of help building databases or software applications.
Target small businesses that may not have the budget for sophisticated technology but exhibit a use or need for it; this may lead to referrals.
Many nonprofit organizations are constantly looking for volunteers.
Contact local nonprofit agencies such as churches, schools and community centers and offer your services on a volunteer basis.
Explain that you're interested in building your portfolio and ask for references and testimonials for successful projects.

What are the specific topic about computers?

Not sure what are referring to or what you need.

Web Design and Programming

Writing your research paper on web design or programming can also include both subjects, depending on your knowledge and your own preferences.

Some web design languages include HTML, CSS and PHP, all popular coding languages when building and operating basic websites.

Many free tutorials and resource guides are available online that include coding and instructions.

Some programming languages for the computer include C++, C, Visual Basic and Java.

All of these programs vary in their abilities and extent of creation.

You can choose one subject from web designing and one from programming to write your research paper on and combine them effectively into one paper.

Because every computer coding language has an array of subtopics and research points, you can decide which topic you want to be primary in focus and which you want to be secondary.

Searching and Using the Internet

Using the basics of the Internet is a skill that develops after extensive Internet use and use of related online tools.

Learning how to properly use popular search engines is a skill that is growing in demand as the number of people on the Internet grows.

Writing on various search engines such as Google, Bing and Yahoo allows you to compare each of the systems, or you can write on a specific search engine website and how to use it properly.

Shopping Safely Online

Shopping securely online is a growing demand as the number of online stores grows and payment options expand to allow nearly everyone the capability to shop.

Many online stores and websites use an "SSL" (Secure Sockets Layer), which allows shoppers and visitors to the website to browse safely while entering their personal information and financial data.

Learning how to verify if an SSL is in use on a website would be a valuable skill to all shoppers.

Avoiding Viruses and Malware

You can write your computing research paper on viruses and malware, along with spyware, which all circulate the Internet and sometimes programs themselves.

Malware, spyware and viruses can all slow and infect users' computers, eventually ruining them entirely if they are devastating enough.

Virus programs, their prevention and browsing the Internet safely are all valid topics when writing on malware and computer viruses.

Hope this helps.

I would like to download micro soft works word processor to my pc

Can do, it just costs money.
Microsoft Works is the program you're referring to.
It is a licensed paid for program.

http://www.microsoft.com/products/works/default.mspx

To obtain it any other way than paying for it is Stealing.

I would like to offer a free alternative.

OpenOffice

1) Anything generated on a computer with OpenOffice on it, can be used on a computer with MS Office on it.

2) Anything generated on a computer with MS Office on it, can be used on a computer with OpenOffice on it.

3) There is no 'Learning Curve'
The user interface of OpenOffice is VERY similar to MS Office.

{I've used OpenOffice for 3 years now, and have Never looked back)

OpenOffice homepage,

http://www.openoffice.org/

A Look at the user interface of OpenOffice,

http://why.openoffice.org/why_great.html

{Hover your mouse cursor over the program icons}

Information about OpenOffice on Wikipedia,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OpenOffice

{I don't advertise for paid programs. It is against the FixYa T.O.S., anyway.
I do tell about free programs that work }

How can I learn to use microsoft word, excel and other basic computer skills

If you have legal copies of Microsoft suite office software then the built-in help feature answers a lot of navigations and such but to become an expert you should pick up at your local hastings/barnes and noble or amazon.com book store and get a study/cert book on it to master the ins and outs. support.microsoft.com also gives you answers on the software if you get an error with the programs. Best way to learn sometimes is trial and error or just asking specific questions to what you're doing and trying to accomplish in those Office programs. Check out whatis.com and howstuffworks.com

Please rate and comment!!! Thanks.

How do i create my own computer software?

If you want to write Windows software, you'll need to pick up something like Microsoft Visual Studio 2000/2005/2008. If you're a student, many colleges offer this at a huge discount.  If you want to write software for mac, you'll need to get a copy of XCode from your Mac install disk 1.  If you want to write software for Linux, it's already included.  -------- In any of the above cases, you'll need to learn a programming language like c++, Java or Python. Beginner frequently start with C++, as do many college computer science curriculums. Either way, get a book on your programming language from your local library.
