You might want to consider a default settings reset. To refresh or reset the monitor back to default settings, unplug the monitor's power cord, and then press the the power button for five (5) seconds to drain any residual power. Plug in and then turn on the monitor. The default settings load.

Additional information about your monitor is available on the Gateway support website.

Can I increase the screen resolution on my EV700B monitor higher than 800x600? How?

Open Control Panel - Display - Settings tab - Screen Resolution move the slider to the right to increase the screen resolution.
If you cannot increase the screen resolution, it means the correct video driver was not installed generic VGA driver was installed.
In this case install the video driver for your graphics card and change the screen resolution.

My suggestion is to lower your resolution. In high intensity graphic type games it may be just a bit too much for your monitor to handle

I hope this helps you out.

I'm guessing the different monitors are different sizes? The only thing a driver for a monitor will do will tell the computer the max resolution that the monitor will be able to go up to. However most 90% of monitors can use the built in windows driver without issues. Your best bet is going to be to change the resolution on the monitor. To do this you can either hook up the old monitor, lower the resolution, and then plug in the other monitor. Or you can boot the computer into VGA low resolution mode by pressing F8 as the computer starts up and selecting that option. From there you can lower the resolution, and then put it at something more desirable with the new monitor.
The other possibility being your Gateway monitor is actually malfunctioning and you just happened to hook up a bad monitor.

Had a optimal resolution message on my laptop. I just closed it and now have no screen. have rebooted and still no screen. how can i get my screen back?

Hi,Well Try running it in safe mode, press F8 constantly as you power-up the system, you cant change resolution here but i think you can do system restore,if it does not work, try connecting to an external monitor with a higher screen size than yours, like if yours is a 14" inch look for 15" or 17" inches an connect to laptop select resolution and reduce it to the lowest 800x600 or lower, shut down, disconnect external monitor and restart.

I want to put my laptop and connect it with Gateway monitor. What type of plugs do I need?

Spec of the monitor http://www.dealtime.com/xPF-Gateway-Gateway-Monitor-FPD1760
It will need the VGA cable (3-row/15-pin D-SUB), you need to look at your laptop monitor port to see what you have for the output.
Failed TV and Monitors: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

And you will need to set the laptop video signal to be at the native resolution of this monitor, which is 1280 x 1024 @60Hz.

My monitor light comes on but there is no signal.

Isolate the problem. Connect the problem monitor into different computer. If the problem monitor worked on another computer, try connecting a CRT monitor to the problem computer. Once the display comes back, change the screen resolution.

Starlogic 17'' as dual display not clear

Check and see if your NVIDIA drivers are up to date. Then try changing the resolution on your laptop to match the native resolution on the monitor and see if it works. If it does then you will need to look for the option to set custom resolutions on each monitor so that you can have both devices working at diferent resolutions if 1 is wide screen and the other is not.

Let me know if this does not work and you need more help.
