Kodak 5100 has stopped printing.

Changed both black and color ink cartridges,  when green light goes solid i hit the print button and after the usual sounds i the process it just goes to a slow paced print mode and never comes out of it.  have tried unplugging it and giving it a rest to no avail.  can't find anything of this nature in kodak's troubleshooting guide and i am ready to toss it.  any ideas

I think these printers are junk. I've hardly used mine. One set of genuine Kodak cartridges replaced the almost empty ones supplied with the new printer. When these ran out, a second set of new Genuine Kodak cartridges went in but the print quality was awful so I removed the printhead as recommended. On reinserting the still unused cartrdiges, the monitor reports they're both empty!!!

I wasn't impressed with the 'life' of the 1st set of cartridges mindful of Kodak's song and dance of superior low-cost printing. The 2nd set haven't printed a single sheet and the printer thinks they're empty. It's because I removed them. The cartridge electronic droplet counter (there isn't really an ink level gauge) doesn't continue from where it left off but recognises my still new cartridges as 'secondhand (i.e. scrap) and ZERO's the ink level gauge. Hence no printing. It's a bloody scam designed to stop the cartridge pirates muscling in on Kodak printers.

    My conclusion?

There isn't such an animal as a low-cost inkjet printer. I'm going to continue using my low-cost Samsung laser from now. The Kodak is a complete con.

It is very frustrating if one of your product is not working but manufacturers such as Kodak does not want that to happen. As an experienced user of Kodak printer, I advise you to do the following:

Remove the cartridges, make sure that they are intact, not tampered.

For a resolution, you can visit their interactive troubleshooting guide at www.kodak.com/go/itg

Koadak easy share all in one, won't print in bacl

Check the version of AiO software you are using. We had to re-install the Aio Kodak software yesterday because the print que did not register when I changed the ink cartridges. The AiO would scan, but the computer side still thought it was out of ink.

Perhaps the latest software will fix your problem too.

Kodak 5100 Needs Both Cartridges To Print?

Unfortunately, you cannot used the printer if one of the ink cartridge is empty., compare to the other printers you can print a black text or gray scale if the color is empty or one of the cartridge is empty.

All kodak printers work the same both cartridges should have ink on ink before you can use It.

Kodak Easy Share 5100 will not print after I changed black cartridge

Press copy and photo at the same time and print a demo sheet. Look at the eyes of the two kids in the picture, if they look like zombies, your printhead is clogged. try cleaning the printhead and print the demo again. If it's the same, you need a new printhead. Call Kodak.
