Hi Abidann,

What operating system are you booting up ? If it is Windows XP you can press F8 during the boot up sequence. A new menu should pop up. Select the 'Safe Mode' option and hit enter. You should then see lots of lines of white text scrolling up the screen pretty quickly, this is the operating system loading the system files. If you get this far, it's good news, and you've probably only got a corrupt registry hive which is fairly easy to recover from.

If you don't even get this far then you may have a dodgy connection to the hard drive that stores you operating system. Check in your bios to ensure that the hard drive is still being detected. If it cannot see the hard drive then either a cable has come loose inside your computer, or the hard drive has failed and you will need to get a replacement.

Fingers crossed it is the first problem though!

only way to bypass this is use a recovery disk to boot from and then perhaps the issue will manifest itself

You only need to reinsatll your browser and clean its history and temporary files. Use a sytem utility software like RegInOut to fix such type of errors in browsers.

This grub loading error 17 means that the file system type could not be recognised you should be able to boot from a cd make sure the cd or dvd drive is enabled as the first boot device in bios

I hope this helps

My NBA 2k11 Is stuck on the "Loading Settings..." Screen and does not go any further. All other games work perfectly fine. Please advise.

Try reinstalling the game some times removing some programs from the system also deletes files which are also used by some other programs. So uninstall the game from control panel properly then reboot Your system then install the game again. And also check the game system requirements that should also be meet by your pc.

Error loading operating system

try pressing F8 at bootup, when the SAFE MODE window comes up, select boot in Safe mode desktop. When at next window, you are asked if you wish to go to desktop, or perform a System restore, choose system restore, when the next window comes up, like a calender, simply choose a time prior to the problem, follow instructions, and it will go through and reboot. This should get you back.

Error loading operating system how can i fix it

Boot to your CD that you install from ... and try to FORMAT your disk without loading the operating system. If you can format successfully, with no errors, then you can try to reboot to your CD and then install your operating system again.

If the format fails, you probably need more help that I can give on here. Either your hard drive pooped out, or the partition is messed up, or something a little more serious than just an installation issue.

Once booted on to the CD, it will offer you several options - Do not reinstall Windows - you want to choose the Repair Option.

When the repair stuff has loaded (You may have to select which volume you wish to work on, if so just pick the number that is next to your C drive.) and you are at the prompt that looks like "C:>" you will want to type in the following, without the quotation marks.

"format c: /s"

This will take quite a while to complete and when it is done - IF it was successful you can try the install option upon the next reboot.
