    can I buy a replacement???

the plastic knob on the lid is cracked and broken -

where can I get a replacement?

  • Anonymous Apr 13, 2009

My partner put the crockpot and glass lid in the oven after it stated it could go in the oven. Inevitably the plastic knob melted so now I'm desperate to know whether there is a replacement other than the suggestion to use a draw pull instead.

    Anyone got any ideas?

Use a drawer pull.  Put the knob on top and thread the screw in from the bottom.  You'll need rubber washers to place against the glass.  The small hole to the side is meant as a vent, you'll lose marginally more heat without the plastic over it, but not enough to interfere with the cooker.

I only want the black knob that lifts the lids off -

it cracked on its own accord - posibly the heat as I use it a lot -

Plastic lid broken

Believe or not, go to your local Goodwill Store! They have tons of crocks and the lids and the cookers separate frm each other that have been donated becase one of the pieces was broken and they donated the rest of the pieces. Lids and crocks typically range from $1.99 to $5.99 and you benefit your community at the same time.

Friend of mine gave me a corningware k5607 slow cooker with 2 lids, one is glass and the other one is plastic. What is the plastic lid for? Do I use them at same time?

Use this lid when you want to store the leftovers in the refrigerator. It is like a vacuum sealed top and will keep it fresh longer.

Need plastic handle on Rival Crockpot lid.

easy fix go down to your hardware store and buy a big wooden knob (like you would put on a cabnet to open it) it will even come with its own screw for .99 ! . you will have to snap off with a plyers and a screwdriver whats left of the old knob from the lid . but this fix works great and looks good too !

Broken lid on crock pot 3150/2

I just found a glass lid from a 9" or 10" pot and use it, but it doesn't have the height that the plastic one has so it tends to spill a little bit if I'm not careful.

The locking lid on Crock Pot SCVS600 has broken.

I had this same broken lid handle problem so I called the 800 number on the crock-pot.com website and got right through to a live person. Since my product is still under warranty (they asked for the manufacturing date code on the plug), instead of providing me a replacement part, which the very nice woman said is unavailable, they are sending me a whole new crock-pot. Not the same model (which the nice woman also said is unavailable) but a comparable unit which is OK with me. Maybe this is their solution to the lid hinge and handle problems.

HOT AND BOTHERED!`

Rival doesn't seem to care that their lid handles don't hold up. I'm going for the drawer-pull solution, myself! You would think a big company like that would be interested in how poorly their products hold up, especially since the cooker itself (I also have the SC609) is just fine; it's just a case of using poor quality materials for a lid handle. Or maybe it's planned obsolescence, hard to tell.

Lid Knob

Just called the number (found on the web) for the Wal Mart Model 106661 of this and they are sending me a form to replace the base (with the heating element in it). Also have the same problem with the lid handle. Asked them about getting a new handle and they said I could order an entire new lid. A ceramic cabinet knob with the SS screw and washers sounds like a better solution then buying a new lid. Info date 1/21/08

Replacement Knobs for the Rival Slow cooker

I HAD the problem with the handle snapping off the lid of my oval 6qt lid - until I spent 10 minutes and $2 in the cabinet hardware section of Home Depot. Now I have a stylish silver & white handle on my crock pot lid. The bolt and grommet were re-used, several little tiny o-rings were added as spacers, along with a drop of Loc-tite.

It is worth replacing
