Kenmore washer 110.16112503 works in wash & spin cycle but not rinse. After wash cycle finished I hear a humming sound and the machine does nothing until I manually start spin cycle. Broken timer?

When the cycle doesn't advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem:
It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer.

Reset timer using manual You found recommended answer with link to manual with reset instructions. Scroll toward bottom 1/3 of page on following link http://waterheatertimer.org/GE-timers-and-manuals.html Another option is buy identical timer from Home Depot and return defect in new package This timer has 1 year limited warranty thru Jasco Fixya provides accurate information, but if timer expert does not answer question in quick same-day response, then fixya sends recommended answer which may or may not directly answer question, but might give useful resources. My Kenmore washer will not move into the next cycle unless I manually turn it to the next cycle. This just began today. What is wrong with it?

It's either the timer is faulty or the lid switch is broken. If it fills and agitates but dos not spin and drain it's the lid switch. If it spins and drains when manually advanced to that setting your timer is bad.

I have a paragon 8145-20 defrost timer. do you wire the compressor to the timer? I cant seem to find a wiring diagram on how to wire this correctly

Link below has wiring diagrams and wiring manuals for 240V 8145-20
http://waterheatertimer.org/Paragon-timers-and-manuals.html#defrost

I am not expert installing defrost timers.
According to information from Paragon, 8145 is for hot gas defrosting. 8140 series are time initiated, and pressure-or-temperature terminated.
Wiring diagram does not show compressor wired to timer.

The cycle works like this:
Timer is running but defrost is not switched ON.
Fan is ON.
Timer switches ON and activates defrost cycle.
Fan turns OFF. Hot gas valve turns ON for defrosting.
Cycle limit switch is temperature or pressure sensitive.
Cycle limit switch reaches trip point, timer switches OFF.
Hot gas valve turns OFF. Fan turns ON.
So fan is off during defrost cycle.
Hot gas valve turns ON when timer switches ON.
Timer is switched OFF by pressure-or-temperature limit switch.

I need a wiring diagram to troubleshoot a non-working Dishwasher (Maytag DWU9200) The cycle doesn't advance, and none of the loads function when the timer is advanced manually

I had the problem years ago on a Maytag DWU9200. The problem was that a tiny wire was broken on the motor that is running the timer and the timer was not working. I had to replace the complete timer assembly. I got an electrical schematic with the new timer.
This has now worked for 5 years...
Today the float for the float switch was stocked, preventing the water to fill the dishwasher during the cycle. I moved the float up and down several times and it works now.

Starts, but does not move on through cycles

check your lid switch may be broken. or could be your timer does it stop and not advance? if it gets stuck you more than likey have a broken lid switch. but if it gets stuck in one cycle and keeps washing and washing and washing you more have a bad timer.

Still confused ...

the timer should be moving by itself to rinse and spin and than finish the cycle
If your timer stop at rinse cycle you gonna need a lid switch.
Problaby your lid switch is broken
