It is a problem but I haven't heard of it going out after 3 hours and backup batteries are on back order right now.

In the meantime:

  • Make sure the GPS is turned off when not in use.
  • If you are not in a hot spot or wireless network area, turn your wifi signal off.
  • If you are not using Bluetooth at the time, turn that off as well.
Like most multi band phones, the more bands or signals that are on, the more battery life is drained.

I know there is an over the air upgrade going on right now that may correct some software issues with it.

Battery dies within 24 hours

Hi, what makes the phone battery to die to quickly, is because the battery cell to weak and almost damaged completely and it's unable to power the phone for too long.

The battery cell is damaged. So you will need to replace the battery with a new battery.

You can go to any phone store around your area and get a new battery to replace the old battery.

When a new battery is is purchased, usually comes with a factory battery life whic is not yet fully charged. You will need to charge the battery for longer hour before use.

After purchasing a new battery, make sure you take time out to charge the battery properly for about 4 to 6 hour before use, otherwise battery cell can go flat again in no time.

Hope that helped.

Thanks for using fixya...

Battery life sucks. Bought a new battery and it's life sucks too... is the phone itself causing this?

Battery life depends on your network, temperature, features you use, accessories, and signal strength.
Of course, you charged it fully before using it..

I was to advised to charge a new battery only 2 to

Two to three hours should fully charge your battery, to porlong battery life I would let the battery run as low as possible before recharging. Recharging half charged batteries causes the battery to age faster.

IF I WILL CHARGE MY PHONE IN A FEW MINUTES IT SHOWS FULLY CHARGE

I'm not certain what your question is you made a statement more or less.

I do know that alot of cell phones will show that they are fully charged after minutes of charging, but then very quickly go back down to almost dead within an hour. This is because the phone is not actually fully charged. Most batterys need at least an hour minimum to be fully charged after its drained completely.

Post back if you need any further assistance. Thank you for choosing Fixya!

Battery problems

You need to replace your battery.  When you do follow these steps to preserve battery life.
1.  Fully charge battery for 24 hours 2.  Make sure that you use the phone without charging it until the phone tells you the battery is low. 3. Fully charge the battery until it reaches full again.
The reason your battery is failing to hold a charge is a problem call battery memory.  The less power that you use off the battery the less capacity the battery has.

LG viewty ku990 - no battery life and phone gets really hot

Hi

I dont know if this will help you, but it helped me. I had the same problem, with phone not holding charge and getting really hot both during and after complete charge.
I needed my memorycard from my LG to my other phone, so I took it out, and off course the phone needed to be charged so I charged it, and... it did not get hot at all, and when it was finished, the charge lasted a day and a half!! Now the problem is I cant use the memorycard anymore in my Viewty :S Win/Loose situation i guess....
