I have a second-hand compaq sr1303wm and it was unplugged before it was shut down. Now when its plugged in, the green light in the back is blinking but the cpu will not come on.

if it has a power button on the back of the power supply just turn it off and then unplugg it for about 5 mins then plugg it in and turn on the power supply again before you use the computer power button. if this wont work replace the power supply. this could be costly to fix since you could have fried the cpu when it was unplugged but start and the beginning.

I was using the desktop and it randomly shut off and will no longer turn back on. The green light on the inside is still lit up.

Please try to this...unplug the unit...try to turn it on...(trust me on this)
Wait 1 min...plug it back in....try to turn it on.
Please let me know what you get...at this point.

Thank you

Shut down computer and when I went to reboot it it would not turn on. Green light in back is on

Hold Power button in for 10 secs... see if starts... if not, unplug for 5 min and plug back in and try to start. Motherboards can lock up in the BIOS or it could be a power supply. If this solution doesnt work, leave power plug out over night and attempt again. If fails again... it maybe the power supply.

Power light blinking yellow after sitting a while

Unplug computer, disconnect all usb/monitor/internet, open it, hold power button until green led on the inside on the motherboard turns off, pop out the BIOS battery (looks like a big watch battery and use a small flathead screwdriver to depress the spring lock on one side), plug in computer, hold power button for about 20 seconds (must reset BIOS or something), let up on power button, wait 10 seconds and push power button. The computer should turn on. Wait for it until activity seems stable (1 min. or so). Push powerbutton to shut off.

If this has worked you have proven that it's not the power supply (it turned on).

Go buy a new battery (CR2032 3 volt). Unplug computer, open it, hold power button until green led on the inside on the motherboard turns off, pop in new battery, plug in (you should notice the power button blinking amber again), hold power button until it stops blinking (about 20 sec....again must reset BIOS or something), wait 10 sec., push power button. the computer should turn on. Wait for it until activity seems stabe (1 min. or so). Push powerbutton to shut off.

Now, close case, plug in all usb/monitor/internet/etc. Power up computer. You'll get an internal floppy drive error. Push F2 (maybe F1) to get into the BIOS settings and go to "drives" and turn off the internal floppy. Save and exit. The computer should boot properly now.

This seems to be a big problem with the e510, my theory is that this one small battery is the root of most of these failures (as these computers usually fail after 1-2 years), not the power supply or the motherboard (heck, when you replace the motherboard it comes with a new one of these batteries...a several hundred dollar piece of hardware, with a $5 battery that will actually fix it).

Printer does not turn on - checked plugs etc - all OK It could be a problem caused by new cartridge being installed.

This just worked for me. Printer would not turn on, no lights, nothing.

Took cartridge's out, unplugged from computer and wall outlet. Waited 5 min. Plugged into wall plug first, printer turned on, plugged into computer and reinstalled the ink cartridge's and pc found new hardware ( printer ) and all was working after that.

Unplugging from wall socket and pc, was what I needed to reset it.

Computer won't start up!

Waiting for 10 or 15 or even 30 minutes doesn't make much sense to me. What kind of flash drive or drives do you use? .. USB Thumb/Pen/Flash drive? .. If your flash drives in "My Computer" folder just happen to disappear, does the computer still working or freezed state? When you say your computer does not want to start on AT ALL.' the machine is not running at all or just that the operating system is not booting up?
