Question about Compaq Microcom Computers & Internet
When I insert my PCMCIA card into the laptop it says
Found new Hardware"RIPICAB-RC288ACL"
Before it used to say Found new Hardware "Compaq Microcom 420..."
After some time I get the tooltip that "Your new hardware is installed and ready to use."
When I go to the modem properties it shows "56K PC Card Fax Modem" rather than "Compaq Microcom 420..." as it used to show before.
And when I Query the Modem, it says "Communicating with the Modem please wait" and then the system hangs. Then when I take out the modem the window starts working normally.
Can you please tell me what has happened to my PCMCIA modem.
Windows has installed the wrong device driver.
Go to device manager and remove the drivers then install the driver from the manufacturer.
