The red convergence is not functioning, and no adjustment can be made via service mode. I replaced both convergence IC's (part number STK392-020), and still have the exact same issue. The E10R error code description is "sensor output level low", and indicates sensor number "0", which is the top center sensor. I've swapped the sensor out with another, and still get same error code, so I'm not sure how valid this error is. Looking for ideas. As CoryK mentioned, we are in the sticks, and a housecall from repair tech is last resort. Considering the wood in the cabinet to supplement home heating.

If your Sony KV29C5A is of the FE-1 chassis, the G2 voltage controller is in the C board. The C board is the squarish board at the very rear of the CRT. Adjustment could be made on RV701. If no amount of adjustment would make the flyback lines disappear, you need to check R722 (680K). In some instances it could also be any of R709 (330K) or R718 (33K) or R724 (470K).
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
this unit will have what is called ik protection wich means that the picture tubes are constantly monitor with this system all the way to the video procesor so the picture will desapear to a black screen even if the audio is ok,there may be a solution if contract a tech like me to adjust the bias so that compensates the drives to the pictures tubes since 1 or the 3 pt are week at this point.
