Franklin Electronic Bible, KJ-21, 1st edition, 1989, quit

Marlene, My parents also gave us the KJ-21, about 1988, then costing $250. Still works great. Love it. Response: "Unfortunately, the KJ-21 is no longer available. The current model is the KJV-570." Checked site for price: about $50. Don't know if it does same as KJ-21. Brother gave me KJV-450. Won't even go directly to "Jesus wept." Franklin, San Diego "Older Is Better" ne?

My bratty little brother broke my wordtank G50 screen. It is now cracked. Is there anyway I can replace it without buying a new one?

I think taking your Canon Wordtank G50 to the service center can replace the defective part. I believe they fave a spare part for that.

Partner x8c problem

I have a problem with my Partner X8c translator, which scren after three years of using stopped to work properly. The batteries are new. Do you know any repair service opportunities? I want avoid buying just a new translator as they are really expensive and should be able to work longer then three years.

Zelco Bookmark dictionary II cannot change clock to from AM to PM

Are you in the 12 hour or 24 hour format?

Start here:

-Press the little clock icon (it's above the letter "Q")

-Press the "A" key to toggle between 12 and 24 hour mode. Sometimes I have to do it a couple times to make sure I know exactly which mode it's in.

-Press the "Space" key to enter time setting mode.

- Use your number pad to enter the time...

- Press "ENTER" key to confirm. It will then take you to the Date Setting Mode. If your date is already set just press "ENTER" again.

I think that should help. If not, let me know.

Please rate as a FIX YA if I helped. ;-)

The translator does not switch on any more, (out of the blue)

Outlook not good.

Ectaco is adamant that all repairs must be sent directly to them. They do not authorize anyone else to perform repairs.

As a result, no one else can obtain parts or service manuals to repair these devices. So there are no other options for repair worldwide- only shipping the unit to Ectaco's Service Center in the United States (and only if it is under warranty).

You could try posting your problem on the Ectaco User Forum to see if any other users of this translator have a solution.

You will see many other users on the forum that are in your same situation, and most of them are equally frustrated.

Though I have not been able to personally fix your problem, I hope the information provided will be helpful in some way.

G50 wordtank

I have the same dictionary and have owned it for 3 years now. Half my screen went out a month or so agao and I couldn't find anyone who could repair it so I just opened it up and and *gently* tapped around to make sure there were no loose wire connections on the back of the screen. Lo an behold it worked! Maybe this could help with your problem. I would at least try that before buying a new one. (BTW taking it apart was a little difficult but not impossible... around 15 minutes or so for me)
