Question about Samsung HLN467W 46" Rear Projection HDTV
I bought a PS3 thinking i could get the BlueRay experience with my Samsung DLP HLN5065. Well, i can't. The component cables aren't a "supported" mode. So I hooked my PS3 to a Panasonic AV receiver via HDMI, then hooked the Panasonic receiver to the Samsung via a HDMI-DVI cable. Good picture, but still not HD (is it even 1080i?). That worked for 2 weeks, but suddenly there's no more DVI picture. I know the TV recognizes the cable, b/c i'm not getting any errror messages on the screen. The screen is just black. I can connect the PS3 to the Samsung via the regular av cables (that came with the PS3) and get a standard picture, so it's not a lamp or color wheel.
My questions are 1) why would the DVI input suddenly quit?
2) do i have to buy another TV that supports 1080p to get the BlueRay experience?
