It could be the wrong format. I used to play music off my psp. I'm guessing if you use iTunes, and imported a CD, its going to make your songs AAC format, which is also known as MP4. I have posted a link to where you can set the different compression methods. If you are using WMA format, you are using an even less compatible format, and if you import it into iTunes, it will convert it as well. To convert already imported music into iTunes, once you set the preferences to MP3, right click on the song, and click "create MP3 version." after that you may reveal the song in the finder/explorer by right clicking the song, and clicking "show in finder" or "show in explorer"

How to download music from pc to psp

Hi sexysue38,

Based on your concern, I suggest trying the following steps:

1. Connect the PSP to your PC with a USB cable.
2. Press the "home" button on the PSP
--> at the lower left of the screen you can see the home button.
3. Use the left-right directional buttons to find "Settings", then the up-down buttons to find "USB Connection" on the PSP.
4. Press the "X" button, your PSP should display "USB Connection".
5. Please wait until your computer tells you that a new USB device has been connected, then show you a new generic hard drive, usually E: or F:
6. Click on the drive letter that corresponds to the PSP unit.
7. Now create a new folder on that drive and name it "psp".
8. Within the new "psp" folder create another folder, and name it "music".
9. Copy your desired mp3 files into the new "music" folder.
10. When you're done copying your desired music tracks, press the "O" button on the PSP to get out of USB connect mode.

To play the music, Use the left-right arrows to move to the music area, then the up-down arrows to find "Memory Stick". Chose that folder by pressing the "X" button again, and you should be able to find all your favorite music!

PSP WILL NOT PLAY MUSIC OR SHOW PICTURES

When you transfer the music or photos, place them in the correct folders in Root. Also, you can you should drop the files either directly in their respective folders (i.e. music in Music and photos and Photos) or you can put them in their own folders (i.e. Music\Artist or Music\Name of CD) do not go more than 2 folders deep. (while you can do Music\Artist you cannot do Music\Artist\Album).

I can't find the music I downloaded

You need to put the songs into the MUSIC folder in the root of the memory stick. They can be in folders in the music folder but NO folders inside of those folders or they wont show up.

Loading music on psp

All music placed on the PSP's memory stick must be placed in the folder labeled "MUSIC". Within this folder, you may place .mp3 or .wma files, or create another folder within the MUSIC folder (to separate by artist or album, for example).

Note that the music must be in either the folder MUSIC or in a folder inside MUSIC. In other words, you can't have the music in a folder that's in a folder that's in MUSIC.

How do i play music on psp

Hey minimart,

If you kept all of the MP3's in the same file structure they were on your computer, this might explain why you are encountering this problem. Unlike some regular MP3 players, the PSP is unable to recognize anything beyond two folder levels. As an example, while your computer would be able to determine what "Music > Artist > Album > Songs" means, the PSP is not able to read anything beyond the "Artist" subfolder.

Hope this helps you out.

Sincerely,
Aaron
