Dmd error blinking blue light. projector will not turn on.

1,Check the fans ,whether each fan is running,when you turn on the projector
2,if the fans run, then ,check the lamp or lamp ballast

the DMD is good ,
the Projector will still start up,even if the DMD is defective.
the lamp ballast or the mother board is defective

i'm having the same issue. it 1st started with a No Signal error. then this started...ugh!

there is an conductor under the cover,
pls push it down ,
and turn on the projector

the number of blinks determine the problem:

Environment Over Temperature- 1 long blink / 1 short blink
DMD Over Temperature- 1 long blink / 2 short blinks
Lamp Over Temperature- 1 long blink / 3 short blinks
Fan1 Locked- 1 long blink / 4 short blinks
Fan2 Locked- 2 long blinks / 2 short blinks
Fan3 Locked- 2 long blinks / 3 short blinks
Fan4 Locked- 2 long blinks / 4 short blinks
DMD Initial Fail- 3 long blinks / 1 short blink
Lamp Initial Fail- 3 long blinks / 2 short blinks
Ballast UART Error- 3 long blinks / 3 short blinks
Temperature Sensor Fail- 3 long blinks / 4 short blinks
Inter Lock Open- 4 long blinks / 1 short blink

any of these will result in lamp off and shutdown.

the red is cutting out. white=blue+green+red. without red, you get blu+green, or cyan. if this was an lcd projector, i'd say it's a burnt light filter, the red lcd, or the lcd has come unplugged. but since this is a dlp projector, you have either a dmd board issue or a main board issue. either way, it'll be pricey.

A DMD has no inherent colour capability - it's just a configurable mirror array. If you want to do full-colour projection, then, you'd expect that you'd have to use three DMDs and three coloured filters - red, green and blue.
But if a single DMD's switched in synchrony with a rotating "colour wheel" - a spinning tri-colour filter that lets through red, green and blue light in turn - then the very rapid switching speed of the DMD lets it lay down red, green and blue images in such fast succession that the result is a perfect colour image.
You can do the same trick with a single LCD panel, but it's not a good idea; LCDs are transmissive, rather than reflective, devices, and block something like half of the light that tries to get through them. To maximise brightness in LCD projectors, a three-panel design works better. If you try to pump the entire output of a super-bright lamp through one LCD, keeping it cool becomes rather challenging.
The extreme smallness of the moving parts on a DMD mean that it behaves like a solid state device, not a mechanical one. For all their complexity, DMDs have very high Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), and well-made projectors based on DMDs can be expected to last easily as long as LCD units, and probably longer. If a DLP projector fails, it's not at all likely to be because there's something wrong with the DMD.
