I have the same problem and I believe it comes from the scum that accumulates between the big black rubber gasket and the steel wash drum. The problem seems to be worst when running a very heavy load Like bath mats towels etc..I have cleaned it with a rag so we'll see.

Hi. Souds like an Effect called ****. Usually caused by not using enough powder, or washing at too low a temperature. You should do a boil wash at least once a month with powder in but no clothes in. It is called maintenance wash. Always wash at the recommended temp on the wash care label. Good luck

How to clean SI 588

To clean the base (soleplate) first, make sure your iron is completely cool before cleaning.
There are a number of things to remove various stains. For general stains rub the bottom of the iron with table salt and a soft damp cloth. For marks left by limescale (a powderey white) use undiluted white vinegar on a soft cloth. Some stubborn stains can be removed with a paste made from baking soda and water. What ever you use make sure you rinse and wipe the soleplate dry before using again. Never under any circumstances use a metal scouring pad or wire wool type cleaner, this will scratch, mark, and probably damage the soleplate beyond repair.

How do I descale my iron

To descale make a solution of 3 parts distilled water to one part white vinegar, about a teacup full and pour into the irons water reservoir. Switch the iron on and set it on to the highest steam setting. Place a clean tea towel or similar on the ironing board and steam-clean it with the iron for a few minutes. The vinegar/distilled water solution will break down and expel the lime scale. Turn off the iron (unplug). Pour out the water and vinegar solution. Pour clean distilled water into the iron reservoir and steam-clean a new clean cloth for a few minutes. this will remove any residual vinegar etc. Turn off and unplug the iron and pour out the remaining water.

My Frigidaire Washer Leaves Stains all over our clothes

Since this happened from day 1, your water may be the problem. Do you have well water? If so, get a softener system. This will get rid of the iron, which is responsible for rust stains. I really doubt that a new machine would cause rust or grease.

Why didn't you do something five years ago when you first noticed this? It will be much more difficult to get a resolution from the manufacturer after5 years.

GE dryer, black grease stain on cloth

I have the same problem, I haven't resolved it but it seems to be due to the drum of the dryer being able to move more than it's supposed to and things getting caught in between the drum and whatever it sits in, at the front of the dryer. I have found things caught in there before and when I've pulled them out they had a brown/yellow grease stain on them. Other times something in the dryer will have this same stain - although no longer caught it seems it must have been caught at some point then became free again, with the stain. I'm thinking something is loose or if the drum is supported at the back by a bearing of some sort, this bearing may be worn down and the drum isn't sitting right.

Black particles in clothes after using a top loading samsung fully automatic washing machine

You said these particles stick to the clothes, do they come off and then leave a stain? It may be grease or oil coming from a leaking drum bearing seal.
If it is, This is a major repair and not one for DIY.
