Washing machine water inlet valve needs repacement. Have pary But do not know how remove washer top to get to the valve assembly. Appears not to open by poping spring loaded fasner.
1) Unplug the washer. turn off the water. remove the fill hoses.
2) remove the 2 Phillips screws in the front on either side that retain the console. On some machines, these are hidden under console end caps that must be pried off. On newer models, they’re on the back of the console and you only need to back them out about halfway. On most of the latest models there are no screws, rather there are two clips that you release by inserting a putty knife under the console from the front. apply slight force forward on clips and they'll release as you pull up on consoile lightly.
3) lift the console forward to unhook it from the cabinet top, then up and away from you. it will hang back out of the way if the washer’s away from the wall far enough. unplug the lid switch plug, it'll be the one with 3 wires, usually white, brown and green. then use a large screwdriver to pry up the 2 large clips that hold the cabinet to the washer back panel.
open the tub lid, grab the cabinet and gently pull forward and it’ll unhook from the retainers on the base. Lift the cabinet off and set it aside, you'll need lot's of room, but it is easy to work on.
4) if you now look to the right of the tub at the back wall while facing the unit you'll have access to the valve.
*NOTE, To put the cabinet back on, open the cabinet lid again, now looking down through the lid opening, hook the cabinet front under the washer frame while keeping the cabinet tilted slightly towards you.
Rest your foot at the cabinet base to hold it in place, as you tip it back down onto the base. make sure the 2 notches at the back on the bottom(frame) line up with the notched holes in the cabinet bottom.
Snap the 2 big cabinet clips back into place, If one side’s gapped, it means one of the notched holes is mis aligned. remove the clip on that side, tilt toward you slightly, and push the side down into place. Then re-install the clip.
plug the lid switch in, re-attach the console. and Bob's your uncle.
you should be back in business.
hope that helps,
