I m exchanging in my PS3 for another one do i ONLY send the ps3?
I'm exchanging my 80 gb ps3 to Sony for another one, I read in the email i recieved from them, ''only send the console''. Does this mean I keep the hookups and controllers? or do I send everything that it came with? (i.e original box, ps3, controllers, hookups)

sry to give you the bad new but you blue-ray drive has gone to a better place. you can try to reset you operating system but 90% of the time the drive is bad. Sony does an exchange program for $150.00 you can send in your PS3 and get another referbished one back. if you do make sure to get all your data off your hard drive before you do as you wont get the same PS3 back
well the best way i know is to do the PS3 exchange program with Sony its only $150 to send yours in and get a refurbished one back, if you think about it the average blue ray drive will run you around $150 so you are better off in the long run to send the thing in for the exchange program...

you guy need a new blu ray player call sony if ur under warrenty its free if not 150$ but free shipping u can fix it ur self but i dont recommend 60 80 an 160 gb take the 400aaa kes blu ray player its about 90$ but ur better off sending it to sony they will give u another year warrenty when u do
You can't just replace the motherboard, the blu-ray is tied to the motherboard number, so if you put in a new motherboard it won't read blu-ray games anymore. Check http://www.edepot.com/playstation3.html to find out how it is tied to the motherboard.
Hey, i bought a ps3 almost 2 years ago now, its been more reliable for me than my old ps2. i would try and phone them again if you aint recieved the case soon,
it does sometimes take a while for them to repair it and send it back ie if its the same console, they might just swap it for another ie once u get it sent away :-).
sounds like a problem with the laser, im sure you will see the case soon, and touch wood have no problems with the replacement ps3.
hello, this is not ur fault guest. mine has jsut done the same thing. it is due to the recent 2.17 and 2.30 updates casuing laser to spin too fast and burn out. ring sony and they provide wonderful service and will send out a coupon via email to send the broken console to them, and will post a new one out to u. I was very impressed with how friendly and helpful the guys at sony were, and anew ps3 is currently on its way to me. contact sony asap as they r still covering ps3s which has just ran out of warranty for this issue. good luck!
