Cant connect wirelessly

I have a netgear Dg834N wirless router which works fine when conectedwith an ethernet cable, however when i try to use the dongle supplied to me withthe router a netgear wg111t it cannot find any wireless signal, even though the router is not far away and i have no other wireless devices in the house. i can pick up a neighbours wirless signal so i know the system works, but it will not pick up the signal from my router. is there a problem because the router is an N model and the dongle is a G model, is isthere something else? do i need to by an N dongle? and if so which ones will workd with windows XP?

I have a belkin wireless connected to a cable router and I want to get the signal to a home theater using an ethernet cable connectect to another wireless router and can't connect

The Ethernet should plug into the cable router if there is more than one port.

If not plug it into the LAN port on the wireless router.

Do not try and connect it to another wireless router as it won't work.

There should be only one route to the internet, not two.

Frontier Modem Router

You need to set up the Wi-Fi on both the router and the PC.

It will default to the Ethernet connection, so don't forget to remove the cable if testing for wireless mode.

Can i connect my router to my hdtv?

Yes you can connect your HDTV to the router. If the TV has Ethernet port then you can connect the TV to the router using an Ethernet cable. Moreover, if the TV has wireless capabilities then you can even connect the TV to the wireless network of the router.

First be sure to check the drivers for your Netgear WG111 are up to date and correspond to your Operating System. It is important to note that there are three versions of the WG111. If you visit the Netgear's Knowledge Base site you can see the difference between the 3 versions (v1,v2 and v3) and select the one that corresponds to you. If you don't know what version you have look for a v1, v2 or v3 after the model name:

moz-screenshot.pnglevega.jpg

After you determine which version you have, let suppose its v3, click the link corresponding to it and download the Software Version 2.0.0 (Supports Win 7) if you are using Windows or the WG111v3 Mac OS Driver Version 1.0.0.0 if you are using a Mac. Once you download the file, run the executable file and install the driver/software for your device.

If your problem is not with drivers then youshould look at you Wireless Network Setup. Please Check that the router has a source of a working internetconnection plugged in correctly via an ethernet cable. Also, routers need fromtime to time to be rebooted. Try disconnecting the router from the power sourcefor 15 to 10 seconds and connect it again.

Post more details concerning your OS, the router you are using and what type ofinternet connection you have(DSL or Cable).

NETGEAR ROUTER DG834N

since the wireless light is not glowing what we can do is we can go ahead and reset the wireless router,
look at the bottom of the router and you will see the routers labelling, check where the reset button is located,it will be on the back where you have the port, use a paper clip or something that is pointed and hold it down for about 30 sec you will see that all the lights will blink on the router, leave the reset button after that power off the router for 60 sec and then power it on....check if the wireless light is on....it shud be on now..

Tiscali wirless connection issue

Sounds like the router may need a firmware update as the DHCP service is failing to run correctly.

You can however just use a static ip address.
First of all find out the network address in use.
eg. 192.168.0.1 - 192.168.1.1 - 192.168.2.1
to find out, - start menu - run - cmd - ok - ipconfig

1. Log on to the client computer as Administrator or as Owner. 2. Click Start, and then click Control Panel. 3. Click Network and Internet Connections. 4. Click Network Connections. 5. Right-click Wireless Network Connection, and then click Properties. 6. Click the General tab, click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) in the This connection uses the following items list, and then click Properties. 7. In the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties dialog box, click Obtain an IP address automatically (if it is not already selected), and then click OK.

Note You can also assign a unique static IP address in the range of 192.168.0.2 to 192.168.0.254. For example, you can assign the following static IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway:

IP Address 192.168.0.2
Subnet mask 255.255.255.0
Default gateway 192.168.0.1
