What is the spdif plug in for on back of tv

S/PDIF (Sony/Philips Digital Interface Format) is a type of digital audio interconnect used in consumer audio equipment to output audio over reasonably short distances. The signal is transmitted over either a coaxial cable with RCA connectors or a fibre optic cable with TOSLINK connectors. S/PDIF interconnects components in home theatres and other digital high-fidelity systems.

What does RF out mean and spdif mean. Plz

RF out means Radio Frequency output. That will send out video and usually audio to a compatible device like a TV. For example connecting a VCR or older games console was done with the RF out on the VCR or console sending the picture and sound to the TV.
S/PDIF is a Sony /Philips Digital Interface Format.
It is a means of sending sound from one device to another. For example from a Blu-Ray player to a surround sound system. This is usually done with a Toslink lead that uses light to send the information but apparently it can use RCA leads, I've never seen that.

How can I hook a vizio soundbar 2.0 to a Panasonic t.v. Model number tc-p42c1

TV's generally have optical / toslink connections for their digital audio output. I'm assuming the sound bar has a coax digital input, in which case you will need an adapter module. I have seen these on eBay for around $15.

What is the opticalout with usage

Hi,
Optical out is Digital Sound output, which is used to connect speakers with Digital Sound input. This port, (also known as SPDIF, TOSLINK), is used to send digital audio from your PC/ television to a sound bar or stereo receiver. The signal is transmitted over either a coaxial cable with RCA connectors or a fiber optic cable with TOSLINK connectors.

Hope it helps! Good Luck! Thanks for using Fixya!

Lg e500 no spdif output

If you open your sound card properties, you have to tell the hardware (soundcard) to use the SPDIF. For some models of Realtek sound cards, it requires and adapter that you plug into the port and offers optical or coaxial. I could not find anything stating that your PC requires it but I dont have the serial number of your PC to find if you have a different version of the soundcard used in your model notebook.

Also, make sure you are using the proper SPDIF cable to your reciever. This is a digital connection so it requires a 3.5mm to standard male coaxial (RCA) cable. If you are using one, then you just need to make sure that your soundcard knows to ouput audio through the SPDIF port.

Hope that offers some help. If you need further assistance, let me know!

Pioneer vsa e06

depends what audio outputs you have on the sky box, analogue (two phono usually red for right channel and white left channel)in which case just use phono leads to the phono inputs,Optical(toslink),connect an optical cable from the output to the optical input on the dvd channel of the pioneer, coaxial (spdif)connect to spdif input on the laser disk input of the pioneer, dont connect to the attenuated spdif. In the unlikeley event of the sky box not having any audio outputs, just use the outputs from the tv to the pioneer. The optical digital input gives the best quality on the vsa eo6
