The LCD says the Lens Cap needs removed every time I turn the camera on. Even with the Lens Cap removed. I'm unable to record because of this. The LCD remains black.

Please provide the camcorder manufacturer and model number. If the unit is new take it back. There may also be a reset button. Do you have the manual?
