The reason your tray would not come out is because the firmware is lost now its controls are not functioning.
Try to download the games firmware on a computer and transfer it to an external hard disc.
Connect the external hard disk to your console and try to update the firmware on to your xbox.
Then you Turn on your Xbox 360, it will start automatically, press the "Xbox" button and then "Y" to go to the
Go to the "My Xbox" tab.
Scroll to the end and select "System Settings.
Scroll to the bottom and select "Initial Setup." Confirm that you wish
to run the Initial Setup utility. Once the program completes, your Xbox
will restart. You may need to perform a firmware update to play games
or to connect to Xbox Live.
You can also try this if that does not help,
- The first thing that you want to do is restart your console. If you
can't restart, simply unplug your console, and plug it back in.
- The next thing you want to do is check all the cables on the back of
your Xbox. If you have to, pull out each one, and put them back in
- The next step you'll want to try is by removing the hard drive, and
putting it back in. If you have another one laying around, try placing
that one instead to see if that works.
- If you've been trying the open disk error with the same game, try putting in a newer game. It may be the game's problem.
- The last thing that you want to try BUT keep in mind that it's going to
void your warranty, so do it at your own risk! You'll want to open up
your Xbox, clean out the dust on the inside, and clean the DVD lenses with a Q TIP, or a cotton bud.
You can also open it manually, by doind the following;
urn off the Xbox and unplug anything that is hooked to the front of the
Xbox like a memory card or controller, don't worry about the cords on
Remove the ,face plate of the Xbox by pulling from the notch at the end
of the Xbox if it were upright (see picture). Pull gently fromt he
notch until you fell some tension then put a little force into it, it
will feel like you are beraking it but its fine.
Insert your wire, like a folded out paper clip, into of the holes in
the picture depending on what type of Xbox you have. It takes a little
bit of pressure to hit the button. The tray will pop open and want to
close really fast so you might have to grab it.
