It sounds as if it is loosing it's ip address, or possible an IP conflict exists. If not already done, assign a static IP address to the printer within the local network range, and one that is different from any of the other PC's on the network.. You may have to then reset the printer ports on each of the PC's

Cleach78;
This problem could be associated to many causes. I would go with a process of elimination. Here are some of the reasons why the printer might freeze;

  1. There might be something in the print que causing it to freeze?
  2. Have you tried to completely clear the print que? (I had a customer have the same problem a nd it was due to a corrupted file they kept on trying to print.)
  3. Firmware might be another issue. The firmware might be outdated and causing conflict within the printer.
  4. Low memory.
  5. Faulty I/O card.
I would check these possibilities and see if any of these are causing the problem.

Problem error 493048

The problem is usually caused by printing a file with font, size, or page formating errors on a printer with out of date firmware.Once the error has occurred, the only way to use the printer again is to cycle the power and delete the print job from the server or print queue.
Occationally a hard reset is required.
Make sure that the job is cancelled before powering the printer on again or the error will return.
You should try updating the firmware to the latest version from the HP website.

I wantto print from tray 2. but it always print on tray 1

When the printer receives a print job, it selects the tray by trying to match the requested paper type and size with what has been loaded in the trays. Using an "autoselect" process, it searches all available trays for the paper that satisfies the request, starting with the bottom tray and ending with the top tray (tray 1). The printer begins printing the job as soon as it finds the proper type/size.
Press the "Check" button, scroll down to "Paper Handling", press the Check button again, scroll down to Tray 2 Type and press the check button again. Select the type of paper you have in that cassette and confirm by pressing the check button.

HP Color laser jet 4700n 49.3048 service error

The problem is usually caused by printing a PDF file with fonts/page size/ page formating errors which will cause the printer to display the 49.3048 error. The only way to use the printer is to POR or recycle the power and delete the print job from the server or spooling device and cancel it on the printer before the offending command is issued to the printer again. You can try updating the firmware to the latest version 46.140.5 from the HP website. MIke L.

HP CLJ 4700 empty display, no answer

When the display is light and printer is ready for printing but does not pass pages:
There are still jobs in the memory buffer of the printer.
This could be solved by pushing the oval select-button.

Notice:
1. Entering the oval select-button also activates the new control panel settings (when they have been changed).
2. Printer control panel settings could have been changed over a network cable: checking the settings is a next step when problems do
disappear.
