Question about Refrigerators

1 Answer

I have a Lec upright freezer which is working normally, apart from water on top of the freezer. I dry it and then a few hours later it is wet again. The freezer is located in a utility room. Any help would be appreciated. Andy

Humidity level is the cause of the condensation on the freezer. Try ventilating the utility room in some way with fresh air to lower the level of humidity.

We had our Kenmore Freezer on top delivered this morning. It hasn't stopped running yet 9 hours later. Is this normal? There is a sticker inside that say to "Allow 24 hours for adjustments."

as it was delivered this morning you should have left it upright/unpluged for 24 hours, then switched it on.switching it on staight away will not harm it but it will take its own time to settle down to the set temperature.also make sure the seals fit flat all round.and the unit sits square (use a spirit level and adjust feet if required.)may sound minor but some units run noisy if out of square.....

Water builup in bottom of fridge

If the problem is in the fridge 1: it could be moisture being drawn from unwrapped vegetables. 2: if you have a "wet wall" fridge check no food wrapping is touching the wet wall.

According to factory experts, the water line is freezing in the door. There is no easy or cheap solution...they can replace the door for $300 is what I was told. The line is routed in such a way that it is not insulated enough from the cold of the freezer. Take off the bottom fan grill in front, take water line apart and cycle the water. It will pump out but not go through door. Buy a new door or go to the faucet.

Side by side leaking water from under freezer side

Hello, this sounds like you have a blockage in the drain tube, remove panel back/bottom of freezer..you may see ice build up...melt ice with hair dryer/heat gun...you will see a pan below evaporator...melt ice in pan...dry water up in pan with paper towel...now you should see a hole in pan that leads to drain tube...pour some hot water in pan..wait a couple minutes..mop up water and repeat this step 2-3 times....once you have done this find some flexible curatain wire or electrical wire..poke down the hole until you see the water drain..now it is clear..put back panel back and you are good to go. The reason you see water in the fridge is because the water has been leaking into the freezer and down the vent into the fridge instead of running into the drain hole...Please feel free to comment again if you need any further assistance. Mike

Water builds up in the bottom of freezer

had this happen once and my drain was clogged. in the freezer section you have to remove the rear panel. 2 1/4 screw bolts. after exposing the coils the drain hole is in the middle. i clesred the hole with my wet/dry vacuum. first sucked then blew air through it. hasn't done it again and its been 1 year so far

Kenmore upright fridge--freezer door drips when cleaning

Condensation has formed and frozen behing the door panel. You can live with it, or take apart the panel and dry it out - you may have to replace some insulation. Hope this helps!

Freezer keeps loosing its temperature and then freezes again

Sounds like a pc board problem. I have come across many units like these (although I don't know the Samsungs!) which have similar symptoms...it would seem like the freezer gets stuck in "defrost" mode and the ice would melt etc.etc.... In most cases replacing the electronics module solved the problem...in hindsight I have figured out that it was moisture on the pc board components that were to blame! So as a first resort I would locate the main electronics board and use a hairdryer to dry out thouroughly (even if it seems dry!) Also check values for temperature sensors....don't know what the specific values for the Samsung NTC's are, but normally they are in the low kOhm's.... Oshie
