When i switch my computer on i get invalid do i correct.

boot your computer up, as it begins the boot up process hit the f2 and delete buttons to enter bios.
In bios select the "set bios defaults" may have the option of optimal or failsafe the latter if the option is available . Then save settings and exit.
The computer will restart .
If it tells you that you have an invalid format again check that the fard disk is listed in the list of devices presented on the screen during the start up process.

If it is displayed it may be that you have a hdd issue , either the disk may have developed a fault or the software installation may have become corrupted.
The short method of finding out is to download a diagnostic for your hard disk from your disk's manufacturer's website to diagnose whether it is in useable condition.
The program will give you the results after which you can decide,
if it is bad, to replace it or, if it is ok, whether to reinstall windows or attempt to repair the current installation, If you have no umportant data on the machine a full wipe with the software that you downloaded is advisable. Then install your updates and apps etc.

GOOD could take a couple of days to sort the whole thing out

I try to format my pc 1st time its operating system is windows xp i have inserted a xp cd ..... and click reboot but no change occur and i am also unable to format all other drives which donot have os...

First of all does the cd boot into the xp installer. If not the the setting in the Bios would be to boot from HardDisk first. Get into bios by the appropriate key on boot and change the boot order to cd/dvd first and then hdd. Now save settings and restart the system and the xp cd should boot up and you will be able to install xp. Be careful as you may delete all data on the hdd.

Some bios use the del or f2 key to enter, see press __ to enter setting's or bios.In that goto the boot order and change appropriately.
If xp is already installed then if other drives are not acessing saying not formatted then the easy fix would be to right click on non formatted drive and click on format. Then you will be able to access it. Do same for all other drives.

I would like to format this laptop

Boot the computer and go into the BIOS. Set the first boot device to the CD/DVD drive. Put the Operating System disk into the drive.

Restart your computer, and when it tells you to press any button to boot from cd, press a button.

Just follow the onscreen instructions from there and you should have no problem finishing the format.

How to restore my bios on a desktop.

Remove the "button" battery on the motherboard and turn the computer on.
Shut down and put battery back in.

or ... there are two (or 3) pins next to the BIOS chip that may be marked reset / normal.
Either temporarily short the two pins and release (done)
or ... move the jumper from one side of the set to the other side of the set (pin 1 & 2 .. move jumper to 2 & 3) and then back to the original position (done)

Bios correpted

hi saeedkhan you need to go into the bios by pressing example f2 or esc as the computer boots, but it should tell you on the screen how to enter the bios.
once you have done this go to the boot devices, then make sure your cd/rom is first boot then the hard disk the second device, it will tell you how to change them if you have to, then hit f10 to save the configuration and reboot the computer make sure disk is the cd rom and try that.
let me know how you get on.
hope this helped

I need help

Go into your bios, with whatever button it tells you to push. In there, look for anything that resembles Startup... Theres alot of menus I know, just use the arrow key to look through.... Once u see the start up menu, make sure the Harddisk is 1st (or in some bios, it has to be at the top of the list). To do this, there is a legend at the bottom (or top) of the screen that tells you which each computer key does for these menus. Use this, then, once its 1st (or at the top) of the other options, (other options being cd/dvd, usb, floppy, etc, varies computer to computer), push the save and close key (which again, is on the legend). Tell me if this works please>.<
