HP photosmart all in one doesn't scan anymore

For several months scanning was no problem.  I have a Mac OS X 10.5.5.  Probably after an update scanning didn't work anymore.  Already dowloaded software again.  Did already try a new printer.  Same problem.

    HP 4150 is tempermental and isn't canning consistantly.

    I'm running OS X 10.5.5 on a macbook, connected to a hp all-in-one 2175 by a usb cable. I can print just fine, but when I try to scan, the all-in-one says it is not connected. Oddly, when I look for any hp applications on my hard drive I can't find any, and yet, I have no problem printing. I don't see any drivers on the HP website for OS X 10.5?

Most recent Mac OSX versions have the printer driver already included however you need to download and install the scanning driver (TWAIN driver).

You can use this link to the HP download site and download the driver package that includes the scanning software.

HP Photosmart C3180 All-in-One printer, Scanner, Copier will not scan with Mac OS 10.4. The button flashes for a few seconds, then stops and nothing happens. No image appears on my computer screen.
All lot of those printers came with two separate driver's disc. Make sure that you are installing the correct for the mac and not windows. If you are you can go to the hp website and do a search on there website for the driver for mac operating system.

Printer will not scan to computer.
You will probably have to go to this page to download the new Mac drivers for Snow Leopard to get the full functionality of your All-in-one printer back.

Print functions are generic enough where you don't need to have the most updated driver for it to work. But the scanning functionalities are more complicated.

Trying to scan, but keeps on saying "USB not connected" BEWARE SPAM NUMBER 1-800-532-4187
I had the same problem.  The thing is I was pressing the scan button on the printer and getting the lovely "USB not connected" message.  However, if you open the printer icon in the dock (Mine is "HP Photosmart C4200 series") and click the Scanner button in the upper right hand corner, then click "New Scan," voila!  presto! and all is right with the world again.  
Yes, it is obnoxious that HP made a defective scanner button, and I may download the driver again when I get a chance.  But yay for quick fixes!
