Question about Acer Aspire 5600 Series 5630-6951 Laptop

Acer aspire 5600 orange blinking battery light

My two year old aspire 5600 dual core occasionaly does something very strange.
It stops recognising keys, but not all the keys and not all the time. The touchpad seems to be influenced as well. Not long after this or straight away the battery light starts blinking orange.
When I restart my computer it says that the wrong battery has been inserted, but it is the battery that came with it. If I unplug the power en shortly remove the battery it turns on fine.
It does this once every 20 times and it is always the same sequence.
Can someone help me diagnose what is wrong, I searched all over the internet, but couldn't find the same problem anywhere.

The green power button and orange battery light keep blinking. is it time for a new battery?

maybe. isolate it first. try using new battery. if the blinking lights stops, then it needs new battery. if the blinking do not stop check the power adapter maybe that is the defective. it did not give enough power to charge the battery.

Acer aspire 5600 does not boot up

If you upgraded RAM to 4GB that is exactly what is going to happen. The ACER 5601 AWMLi does NOT support 4GB. Flashing the bios will NOT solve this problem.

unplug everything that isn't necessary to run the laptop ie, external mouse, battery, etc. Then plug the ac adapter in, making sure the switch for 110/220 is appropriate for your region. Now, does the machine turn on? PLease respond with the answer, and we'll go from there. Good luck
