Hi, got y reg 2001 kawasaki z 750, every so often when i start bike, it keeps blowing main fuse losing all power, i replace fuse then its ok, for a while, checked for loose wires etc, cant find nothing, can any one help, thanks
Hi,
To my knowledge, there are no onboard electrical/electronic components capable of shorting and blowing the fuse with out blowing any of the secondary fuse. The main fuse could possibly blow due to a short in the wiring or an exposed/frayed wire touching the body. The three most likely areas would be:
Just a start, do postback how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

I have a 82 z 750 (K) ltd twin. My bike blows the fuse when I open the throttle too quickly; ( MAINLY WHEN COLD)! Then everything is dead. If I disconnect the light circuit; (BROWN WIRE IN HEADLIGHT BUCKET), the new fuse stays unblown and I can start and ride the bike w/out lights to make it home.
If I don't disconnect the brown wire and only change the fuse I can wait a couple hrs. and the bike starts and runs w/out disconnecting anything; (RUNS NORMAL)?!?! Any ideas????? (FRUSTRATING)!
SEEMS LIKE THE FUSE BOX THAT THE HOT BATTERY LEAD GOES INTO,TOP FUSE HOT,LOWER FUSE NOT,NO POWER COMING OUT OF IT.BUT IT IS NOT BLOWING IT
