My 4gb transcend memory card showing 30.1mb and can't formatted it in windows 7
I have seen SD card problems caused by a myriad of reasons. First and foremost, make sure the lock switch is set to unlocked.
Then I would start by trying it in another computer. If it works in another computer, the issue could be with your card reader (even if other SD cards work in it). But maybe you can format it on a different computer or operating system.
If that doesn't work:
With the SD card in your computer, run an elevated command prompt (start, all programs, accessories, cmd, right click, "run as administrator"). Then type "sfc/scannow" without the quotes and press enter. Wait for it to finish and see if it works afterwards.
If not, reinstalling the card reader driver might help. Right click on "computer" then click "properties". At the top left, click "device manager". Expand "storage controllers". Right click your SD controller and click "uninstall". DO NOT CHECK "Delete the driver software for this device", or you may have to go online and locate the driver for your specific model. After it uninstalls, go to the "action" menu and click "scan for hardware changes". It should reinstall your SD reader. See if it works now.
If none of that works, and if your USB drivers are realtek, there is a patch for realtek USB mass storage devices that might help (sorry I can't post the link because fixya says it's an invalid word).
One other thing worth trying is to put it in something like a digital camera, and plug it in via USB to try formatting it. If that doesn't help, some cameras have an option to format on them.
