Odd messages appearing on lcd screen and not collecting water
My washing machine has been temperamental lately, sometimes working and sometimes showing a message on the lcd screen as door open or test. When the door open message comes up, the door is definitely closed and nothing happens. However, when the test message is showing, the machine spins with no water. It doesn't draw water at all. Just spins and turns dry. The water is definitely turned on.
The door open message was the first to come up and then, after a few weeks of not using the machine, I tried it again and it put itself right, worked for 2 weeks and now is showing the test message.

UL does not mean the washing machine unit itself is unlevel, it means the load cannot be balance, possibly washing too small a load that the machine cannot distribute in drum evenly ( happens alot when only one or two items being washed), could be poor pump out (check filters if accessible) the machine tries to start spin with excess water or maybe it is a mixed load, lots of small items and maybe one or two large items that hinder the distribution. My machine is very temperamental when I do the sheets, because they get tangled during the wash part of the cycle and then the machine cannot get them balanced to spin. I sometime have to manual move the item about and then put it to the spin only cycle.Hope this helps
Hello, The UL code means a unbalanced load, sometimes it can as easy as leveling the washer,or a odd load such a towels all being on one side of tub and thinner less water retaining sheets being on the other side.
Hello there ..... I will take the presumption the machine has been working okay for a while - if this was the case then you will require a replacement inlet valve for the cold water.
I do however find it extremely odd for a late model machine to do this as the safety parameters will not allow the machine to fill with hot water only - in all cases the cold will always fill "FIRST" followed by the hot water - it should have gone out on a fault code 48 or 49.
I will also assume you have checked the inlets for debris restricting the filters and the cold water inlet.
The only other option is to have the valve replaced.
Hi bob, have you tried cleaning the dispencer drawer that supplys the detergent to the tub? in some cases over time the detergent holder can collects small amounts of powder that can dry out and stick to the walls of the holder and when the machine is in its spinning stage can sometimes vibrate the dry powder in turn cause the powder to enter the tub also there can be a huge build up of liquid detergent like softners that can form a hard black residue in the holder in turn causing the clothes to collect black paticles. If all is ok then you could try applying a hot wash cycle without any clothes in the tub to flush the bowl from any contaminents, thumbs up if this helps thanks.
Washers - Harmony Washer Error Message or Code The Harmony washer electronics can automatically determine if problems exist with the machine. Sometimes an error code can also be present because of things the machine cannot control: like changes in house voltage, water pressure, or temperature.
"A problem has been detected with this unit" will be displayed on the screen.
The most common solution for this message is to turn the machine OFF and then ON. However, this message will sometimes cause the control to stop the machine from working. With this type of error, the control panel will need to be reset. The following steps will allow you to reset your control.
Solution: 1.Clear the ERROR from the screen: Press and hold the MY CYCLES and BACK buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds. The control will display any recorded errors. Please write down what error codes are shown on your screen in case service is needed. If a MORE icon is displayed on the screen, press MORE to list additional errors. When the EXIT button appears, press EXIT. 2.Remove Power: Follow the onscreen instructions to remove power (unplug unit) and then immediately plug unit back in. 3.Clear Setup Mode: After power is restored, a setup screen that begins with "Congratulations..." will be shown. DO NOT PRESS the OK button shown at the bottom of the screen. Press the START/STOP and POWER buttons simultaneously until the Home Screen is displayed. Your unit is ready to function normally.
This is caused by a faulty inlet valve solenoid. It is allowing water to run into the tub. The solenoids can be tested using a multimeter for continuity. A lack of continuity indicates a faulty solenoid and the water inlet valve will need replaced. See the attached photo for reference. Hope this helped and best wishes.
