My own fault, i was messing around with the display features in the DVD menu and i altered what type of Disply it would output, now i have sound but no picture, wonder if there is a sequence of buttons to press on the remote to set it back to factory settings

You can test the output of the Fobs at many Autoparts stores. They have one tester, usually on their counter and it usually has replacement batteries around it.
It sounds more like the receiver for the Keyless has shut down. But you may have a Menu problem on some cars. The Electronic dash Menu is where you can select the different features like "silent mode" door chimes, etc. Sometimes these get messed up when someone tries to reset the Oil change interval counter, then pushes the wrong button.

without consulting my crystal ball for the type of tv and its features, check rear of unit for external speaker switch, speaker output setting in menu, etc. possible hardware faults include , faulty headphone socket not switching speakers on, faulty speakers etc.
It seems you have altered you audio downmix settings on the player. Go to the DVD player menu and alter the audio settings to default to any of the 2 speaker or 2.1 output settings. For example, Dolby 2.1 output.
Any output that utilizes the center channel (which the device is not equipped with), will not reproduce the voices.
