Looking for manual for ''nec n-3480'' TV, missing power cord

Looking for manual for "nec n-3480" TV
Someone has cut the power cord off and I'd like to know how to connect a new cord. The remnant has a blue wire and a brown wire. I need to know which is positive & which is negative. I am in Australia. The circuit board says 250V so I can supply the correct Voltage (we use 240V)

Thanks, I managed to solve this the old fashioned way - trial and error!
    Your post is helpful nonetheless.
Still looking for a manual though.

    BTW
Used an old power cord from a stereo, pulled off the outer casing and found two pins on the mainboard for the power cord. The stereo power cord fit perfectly.
RESULT - one working colour TV.

My idiot roommate cut my power cord in two and tried to pull it out of the back of the TV. Can I just replace the cord outright? If so, how do I remove the old cord. It won't come free from the TV. dj

Hello,
You can probably replace the cord outright , but to do that you will have to take the tv apart and also purchase a new cord. If you still have the original cord that got cut, you can just splice it using **** connectors and it will be easier and cheaper. If you do take that route, just make sure you splice the same colors together, and use some electrical tape to re-insulate the cord. Hopefully this helped.
Thanks

No power to my rca tv model number F27733SB. the slot for the power cord that goes from the tv to the wall is missing a 3rd prong on the "male" side that is actually in the Tv. The unversal...

Hello
Only a two prong wire is needed for any TV to switch on. A three prongs are used for electrical equipments like Mixie, Grider and son, to get onw of the prngs to earth point to avoid accidents due to electric shock. Even though, your tv is provided a three prong wire for its power supply, only two of them are used inside the tv to work on. One amoung them are set free inside the TV. You kust try by replaceing the present wire by a new one. If the problem perists, inform me through Fixya, with as much as details you can send. OK.

NEC TV - How to change language of menu

I just bought an NEC FS-5160 from a local opportunity store last Friday (July 2, 2010) with the same problem. After a few minutes of fiddling I found the solution:

1. Press 'Menu' button. You will see 'Menu' written in Russian. To the right you will see a number '1' above the the word 'TV' or 'Video'. This is 'Menu 1' or screen 1.

2. Press ONLY the 'Menu' button and the arrow on the left will scroll down. On the fourth press the '1' referred to above will change to a '2' for 'Menu 2' or screen 2.

3. Continue to slowly press the 'Menu' button until 'Memu 3' or screen 3 appears.

4. Press the 'Menu' button twice more and then use the first channel changing button to change the language from Russian to English.
