Protect mode will kicking whenever a fault is detected.

Causes that can start protect mode are:

Electrostatic harges on internal circuits.
Leave the unit unplugged for power for one hour or so, this will allow discharge.

Bad speaker wiring.
Check speaker wiring, try unplugging and plugging back, or start after removing one speaker at the time.

Internal fault.
Internal fault is the natural cause for protect mode. If all the above did not work, then the problem is a blown component or an internal fault. In this case the unit must be taken apart , tested and repaired by an experienced person.
If the unit is less than one year old, or if you want to get service, call Sony at the phone number listed on the product documentation.

Regards.

How to hook up my home theater so i can listen to my mp3 player

I don't have a picture but you probably need a Stereo 1/8" Mini to RCA patch cable. If you go to radioshack.com, search for 15-2474 and they have a picture of the cable you should need. The cable is "high quality" made by Monster and is only $4.97. To be safe, take your MP3 player to the store in case is has an "odd ball" jack instead of the 1/8" Mini which is pretty standard now. Connect the other end with the (2) RCA plugs to one of the available inputs on the back of your home-theater rig (i.e. AUX IN, MD/TAPE IN, etc.). If your MP3 player has a volume control, set the output to about half. Then, select the corresponding input on the home-theater rig and you should be good to go. Now you can control the speaker level with either the MP3's volume control or the master-volume control on the rig.

Hi my panasonic sa vk90d is giving me an f61 problem when i turn it on

Hi,
F61 is an error code(protect error code in other brand) for panasonic home theater system. This will trigger if the unit gone to overload to avoid further damaged to other parts. This code is quite technical if your not handy with electronics. However I will say to you the common caused of this error code.
1. Output IC - this is the most common caused of the error code. Once shorts happened to this IC, it will trigger the error code. Exposure to high volume and/or running in the long time will caused this IC to shorts and produce an overload.
2. Shorted Speaker - if one of your speakers shorts, error code will appear also. This may isolate by disconnecting the speaker to the set and play the unit naked. If the symptom still there the fault came from the unit itself.
3. Shorted Inputs - inputs connector is also prone to shorts due to frequent bending and pulling. To isolate this from fault, disconnect all the inputs connected to the unit like the aux input, antenna, mic, etc.
4. Faulty power supply - once gone to out-of-regulation condition, the error code will appear to protect the most expensive parts from further damaged. Bad solder joints in this section is also to consider.
5. Faulty Fan and its circuitry - F61 will appear only after a minute of operation not upon powering on the unit. Check the fan if working or not...
I would advice you to send the unit to your local Panasonic service center and leave the expert isolate the symptoms.
Also, check if your unit is under warranty period, avail it because the manufacturer will fix it for free.
Let me know if you need further assistance.
Hope I helped you.
Have a nice day!
Thanks for using Fixya.

My Samsung YP-U3JQP 2GB MP3 player skips past most of the tracks.

Many WMA's are DRM-protected - the DRM-protected tracks that you have loaded may not have transfer rights, even though they will play fine on a computer. The best bet is to download only songs that are in mp3 format. Another option, which is illegal, is to buy a DRM-stripper and strip your WMA's of the DRM-protection - but, it is illegal, costly, and time-consuming.

Zen 16 gig won't turn nor charge

hold down the reset button for about 1 min then leave it for about 30 seconds. once you have done that try turning it on, if it does not turn on and it is completely dead leave it pluged in to your computer by using the usb cable, leave for about 30 mins it then might start to charge, if it does start to charge leave it till it is fully charged and then it should turn on. if none of that works then i don't know.
