Question about Spidem Trevi 'Exclusive' Espresso Machine
We just got this machine and we are not very familiar with that. A lot of times, when we try to have an expresso, the red light keeps blinking and not allow us to have that. What does it means?
SOURCE: Gaggia Trevi or Spidem Trevi
You may have a legitimate mechanical malfunciton but sometimes the simple solution is the right one! The chute on this (and other) superautomatic does not like the oily residue that beans inevitably leave. All it takes it gently putting one or two fingers into the bean hopper as the grinder motor starts to sound louder/faster (this is caused by the grinder motor being under less load/strain because no beans are feeding) and wiggling for 1-2 seconds. If you do this immediately after hearing the grinder motor's rpms increase you will not get a "fill bean hopper" error message. No hard pushing is required, just a gentle wiggle. There is a shroud over the actual bottom of the hopper, so you don't want to stick your fingers beyond that. If you are concerned about actually sticking your fingers into the hopper while the grinder is running, you can simply push down on the top of the beans with gentle pressure which will in effect force the beans down and accomplish the same thing. This technique + regular cleaning of the grinder may be all you need. Hope this helps! Tony

hi, i have a trevi i bought used with no manual and had problems starting with it, i found an airlock stopping water flowing, i held the water bin over the sink and pressed the valve on the bottom until water flowed out, i do this now when filling the bin and have not had any problems so far. i am still trying to find a copy of manual. i hope this may be your problem as it is easy to remedy. col.

Grounds and water under the machine or drip tray indicate that the drain behind the brew unit is plugged.
Remove the brew unit. You will see the injector in the back of the machine. Below the injector is a pocket that the excess pressure is relieved into when the machine is done making a coffee. This pocket will plug up with ground and oils. The drain is just above the center of the drip tray. Insert something into the drain and see if you can unplug it. Once it has drained run some hot soapy water through the pocket.
