Question about Lexmark Office Equipment & Supplies

2 Answers

Hi, I am a new Mac use and have been so impressed with every thing so far. When I've needed to update, connect, surf, download etc all have been done quickly and effeciently with NO fuss. How ever I decided to buy a new wireless printer a Lexmark X9575 Pro series. When I install the printer drivers from the either the cd supplied with the printer or from the Lexmark website it goes through and says software installed ok. But when you try and and find the printer to add to the list there is no printer listed. I have tried powering down printer and restarting Macbook and tried updating list, uninstalled software and reinstalled sveral times, tried picking the printer driver several different ways and again all installs ok but still no sign of my lovely new printer. Worst thing is to check the printer works I installed the MS s/w on and XP laptop and on Pc running that nasty Vista rubbish and they installed and found the printer no problems. Help is there any thing I'm not doing, missing a sequence, an application problem etc. It's probably due to my greeness as Mac user so any suggestions much appreciated. Thanks

In the top corner of the mac screen you will see the apple logo, click on this then go to system properties (i think i do not have a mac here i am going by memory) in there you will find the printers section just like on a windows based system.

hope this helps

You do have a wireless home network? Do you have encryption on that network, if so you have to give the printer the SSID, define your encrytion type (i.e. WEP 64/128, WAP, WAP2) and provide the key code, although I think Mac's call it a password.

My Facebook PAGES will not work properly? Everything else does on facebook? Im on an old Imac, no updates are outstanding?

Hi Danielle

No Updates outstanding does not mean that it's up to date.
It means there are no more Updates to that particular OSX version. Eg osx10.5.8 You can Often move up to the next OSX 10.6 or osx 10.7 or OSX10.9 Maverics...which is free.

The new OSX will install not only a now OS but New Browser and many other enhancements that you are currently going without

You do have to do a full backup (Use Carbon Copy Cloner - for Bootable clone) to another clean external hard drive. Then you use your new Downloaded mavericks OSX10.9.DMG file to install a clean updated OS.
Get a free copy of MacTracker to look up your Mac model and determine if it can go as far as Maverics & Memory required.
But even if you can only go to the Next version up then you are still in front. I keep a copy of all versions but I'm not sure how or where you could get them. They are large files.

If all else fails... find someone in your area. (I'm in OZ)

Get your Specifications Here:

I cannot download driver for Lexmark Z611 printer on a Mac 10.8 operating system

Hi Brendan Where are you trying to download from?In 10.8 there are a number of automatic things. Plug your printer in with a USB and switch it on and then select software update on the Mac.You will probably find that the Mac will say that you haven't got the drivers and will go and look for them itself.
The system is pretty efficient and generally gets it right once it has detected which printer is connected.I just did this with a Canon printer and the mac downloaded the correct driver automatically.

Imac to jvc

Hi. A couple of things to try.
Switch everything off. Make sure your connections are sound then switch on the TV. Then switch on the mac. With luck the system should sort itself out. However, I have heard of others who have had nothing but grief trying to get similar arrangements to work.Normally ther Mac does it's own thinking, works out what is at the other end and puts up the display without any problems - other than the picture width being invariably wrong until you find the correct size.
There are no drivers to download - the issue is generally that the TV is not reporting back to the computer the correct resolution and scan rates.
You may have to dive deeper into the TV's menus to locate the means of altering the parameters.

I bought a Quick 1.3MP Web Cam Night Vision which the box said would work on MAC 10.4 and above. HOWEVER the instructions say the software disc is only for PC's. How do I install this???? I want to...

I have the exact same problem, and this is the second web camera from them I've purchased. The packaging, the manual, and their website, all state that the camera is both, Mac (10.4 or above) and PC compatible. When I contacted Gear Head's support people the only thing they said was that if I needed to download a new or updated driver for the camera I could do so at their website, etc. When I went to see if could download a Mac version of the driver for the camera, there was none available. Only the Window version was available ... Apparently a Mac version doesn't exist. Because the camera (despite all of the evidence to the contrary) is not in fact, Mac compatible. If you can figure out a way to get it to work somehow, (using CrossOver or something, maybe ...) please let me know.

Hey, let me start by saying that uTorrent is a program mainly used for illegally downloading files to your computer, which is never a good idea. That's not to say that it is always illegal, just the only times I've heard of people doing it, was for illegal use, which you should talk over with your friend. It is always a bad idea to pirate software over the internet. Now, on to my assistance.
If the files you downloaded are taking up too much space, than here is what you can do to delete them. First, quit uTorrent. On a Mac, closing a program is not the same as quitting it, so here is how you quit. Go down to your dock (the little bar at the bottom, or the side of your screen with shortcuts to all of your applications) and select uTorrent (the green circle with the silver outline and the white "u" in the middle). The grey status bar at the top of your screen should show an apple logo, followed by "uTorrent, File, etc." If it says a different program name in the place of where "uTorrent" should be, try double clicking the uTorrent logo again. After that, hold down the "command" key (the key on either the left or the right of the spacebar) and the "q" key. Let go after a second. Once you have quit Utorrent, open finder, (the half blue, half white, square face on the left side of your dock) than hold the option key, the command key, and the L key. This should open your downloads folder. Select the files you wish do delete, and drag them to the trash, (the waste basket on the right side of your dock) than open the trash and click the empty button. These files are now permanently deleted from your computer. I would like to give you more help as far as what to do with the files you do want, but I have to know what they are. Email me at congochicken@gmail.com if you need more help.

How to I recover deleted pictures on my samsung impression?

You can recover deleted photos from phone with asoftech photo recovery program. You can download trial for free
http://download.cnet.com/Asoftech-Photo-Recovery/3000-12511_4-10913438.html?part=dl-10913438&subj=dl&tag=button

Please be noted that your phone memory should show as a drive letter in your explorer, if not, you need to take out your memory card and connect using a card reader, or plug-in to card reader slot if there's any on your computer.

I can't have safari

Its simple, just download it off the apple website,
http://www.apple.com/safari/download/
since you on leopard "1.5.2" you may need to run a system update because you should have been updated to 1.5.7 by now
so if safari still does not work that is why, you need to run a system update.
Here is a little guide on how to do that http://www.switchtoamac.com/guides/mac-os-x/software-update/manually-run-software-update-on-mac-os-x-leopard.html
One thing though if your new to mac's the apple menu is the apple icon in the top right corner :D

Hi,

There are couple of troubleshootig steps which needs to be performed inorder to help get a web page load faster.

Go to Tools/options/ and delete the history, cached pages, cookies, password etc. Might want to ignore favourites.

Also type temp in run command line and then delete the files from the folder. This helps to increase the processing speed as well as the browsing speed of the accer.

This works with IE 6/7/8 though.

Thanks

LG KC910, 'Please wait' message been on for a while after updating failed. tried everything above. removed sim. only thing is haven't got another sim to put in. please help. not impressed with shoddy LG

've just had a nightmare trying to update my KC910 using the LG Software Updater. As described in a couple of postings here... it locks up with a "Please Wait" message. You can't get past this point until it's fixed.

I fixed it (after good advice here) by:
  • downloading the Manual and Software Updater from http://uk.lgmobile.com/web/web.product.manualSoftwareRF.laf.
  • removing the battery and sim.
  • installing the USB driver first using the Updater.
  • choosing Support->Emergency Recovery
  • entering my IMEI and SN
  • starting the upgrade (a different application starts) before connecting cable.
  • entering my IMEI and SN again
  • allow app to fail
  • connect cable - click "retry".
At this point the upgrade proceeded well. It took about 20 minutes.
