How to test GE PGSS5PJXSS compressor

Unplug the refrigerator and remove the back panel that covers the compressor. There should be 3 wires going inside the cover of the compressor. Mark all 3 and mark their location so if compressor is OK you can put them back in same order. The plastic cover may snap on and you may need to squeeze the sides to unlock the cover and sometimes there is a metal clip holding the cover in place. Remove the cover. May look hard but it's simple. There will be three connections under the cover and 2 will go through the start relay. Unplug them leaving the three prongs exposed. They may be marked R =Run, S=Start and C=Common. Set your meter on continuity and then begin by testing 2 at a time until you have checked S to R and R to C an C to S and S to R again. You should get a reading all the way around. If no reading between any of the pairs as you go around you should get no reading between any two the compressor has an open winding and is defective. Then if it passes that test then touch one probe to R and the other to the copper pipes or clean metal on outside of compressor, then S to metal outside and C to metal outside. If you get a reading this way even just a little. The compressor is a burnout. If you have questions please let me know, If you have questions please let me know, Thanks John Tripp Appliance 911

Circut breaker goes out on my refrig.

Do you have other appliance or other things on the same circuit? If not your refrigerator compressor may be shorting to ground causing the breaker to trip. Test the compressor with instructions below. I am having trouble finding thesae parts in stock so you may need to get some local help. I noticed that your model has 220 volts ac what country are you located? I recommend that you also do a compressor windings test as below to insure that the compressor is worth buying the start relay components. My dryer overheats every ten minutes or so and shuts off. Now has burning smell and big burn mark on back. Is not lint!

actually i've had this exact problem.
the burn mark is from clothes sitting on that metal piece as soon as the dryer shuts off and that is still hot. then once it burns the clothes, fabric is pulled through that metal opening and falls on the other side which builds up on the bottom of the dryer. you only need take off the bottom of the dryer and vacuum it out or remove it by hand. taking it apart is difficult and can be dangerous with all the wiring inside, so try not to take off any wires, otherwise when you plug it back in it could ground to the outside of the dryer and blow the motor.

How to set timing on toyota corolla 1.6 engine 4ac?

First the timing is easier to set with that big metal thing removed on the side of the engine. Next I set the No# 1 cylinder to TDC. If you remove the cap to the distributor it helps. They are 8mm bolts three of them.

Pull the plug and insert a platstic straw in the No 1 cylinder When it stops going completly up its at TDC I set it to 10 degrees BTDC by watching the marks on the front cranshaft pulley Never turn the engine backwards the timing belt cold come off. Sometimes its easier to remove the other plugs and turn it by hand.

Next remove the distributor Yes completly, not just the cap. Look at the 4 poles or tabs on the shaft inside the distributor and notice how they align up to the stationary pick up pole inside the distributor as the rotor shaft rotates. Put the rotor part on the shaft, and mark the spot when the rotor is pointing to the No1 spark plug wire position as it passes one of these poles This is your new timing mark.

Now put the distributor back in so the rotor is pointing to the No 1 postion or this mark. You now have a timing of 10 degrees BTDC or where ever the crank was set.

Tip: As the distributor goes in it will turn one way as it engages the gear So yu must lead the mark when you go to put the ditributor in by turning the shaft off your mark.

The distributor will rotate too, so you can align the timing mark you made on the distributor to the rotor shaft. I use white paint applied with a small touch up brush for my mark.

Also your mount bolt should fit in the slot cut in the bottom of the distributor to tighten it in place.

Detergent goes where?

MLG2000A - Maytag Neptune Super Stack SL-3
1 - Select Wash/Rinse Water Temperature
2 - Select Options (Max Extract, Extra Rinse, Signa)
3 - Select Cycle
4 - Load the Clothes Washer (add detergent on top of the load in the tub, and additives [fabric softener, bleach] in their dispensers).
5 - Start the washer.
This is according to the owner's manual I have. Has worked for 9 years for me.
