You need a new bulb installed - difficulty is semi hard , in that you must take apart the boombox , remove the shroud around the bulb , unsolder , resolder new one ..take the old one to an electronics shop to match.
Some displays have one or too bulbs that are solded to the board to highlight the digital display usually hidden behind the screen, this is a very difficult repair because it requires a complete dis-assembly to get at the parts, but if the display is completely dead there is no voltage reaching the display ic.
Hello Press RADIO BAND.AUTO PRESET until the band you want appears in the display (direct power on). Each time you press this button, the indication changes as "FM" --> "AM". Hold down TUNE + or --, until the frequency digit begins to change in the display. The player automatically scans the radio frequencies and stops when it finds a clear station. If you can't tuned in a station, press the button repeatedly to change the frequency step by step. If FM broadcast is noisy, press "MODE" until "Mono" appears on the display and the radio will play in monatural without any noise. Only strong FM signals can be decoded to stereo. OK.

Setting the Clock Before operating the unit any further, first set the clock built in this unit. • When the unit is turned on with CD or tuner selected, press DISPLAY first to show the clock indication. 1 Press and hold PROGRAM/SET for more than 2 seconds. You will need to ask the dealer to replace the display again I'm afraid. I had a friend that had a similar problem with their Nissan. They had problems with display and the CD 4 times. If you try and do it yourself, that will void the warranty. Good luck
