Re: Infoguard SX100M Shredder - motor on but not feeding...
I have a SX100M and it runs in reverse but not in forward. I went to used it one day and it didn't work. I don't see anything jammed in it. I bought it 3 years ago but it has hardly been used. Can it be fixed

I don't own this shredder, but most are built with similarities. Usually there is a micro-switch that's used to detect a piece of paper being inserted. Should this switch get jambed, it will continue to "sense" paper being inserted and continue to run.
As I said, I don't know this shredder, but it would be reasonable to assume that someone will need to open the shredder and clean (or replace) the switch.
As a possibility, I think I would try using one of those 3M Dust Remover can's of compressed air and see it you can dislodge any paper or paper dust around the switch by blowing through the paper entry opening. (Will need to look into the opening to see where the switch is located. Usually near the center.)
Otherwise need to have a technician come out.
This may seem to simple but.......sometimes when you put too much oil into the blades through the top portion, the paper get drenched with oil and will not feed in. Plz try a few sheets or a thicker paper to push through. It may just be that simple. Good luck.

When motor is running, look to see if the cutters are turning. The cutters can be seen by looking into the throat of the shredder. If the cutters aren't moving, the gears may have been stripped and shredder needs to be repaired or replaced.
Over load light comes on only when you have either put too thick a bundle of paper or too hard. So reduce the thickness according to the hardness of the paper. Start with a few sheets of paper only. then increase the number of sheets till you find the shredder is struggling hard to do the job. That is your limit. If you exceed this limit then it would stop shredding and may even burn the motor ultimately.
Most shredders don't recommend use for more than 20-25 sheets in a session. Try using the reverse setting; even though you can't see paper, it's possible that there's some still in the feed channel. If after switching to reverse paper comes out, inspect the feed channel for more paper and clear any you find before trying to feed more sheets. Also in the future, constant use as you've described will burn out the motor.
I have the Infoguard SX100M Axeus, sold by Staples. Only the reverse was working, UNPLUG and open back cover, the paper mechanical switch was working fine, red side switch, the gears and fuse were all ok, I think something on the circuit board was fried. Anyways, I switched the BLACK and WHITE wires with each other going to the shredder motor, thus when I switched it to reverse, it would go foward and shred. Its working now, only in reverse.
once you put the paper in it triggers a sensor that rotates the blades and grabs the paper there is nothing else in between the entrance and the blades. get a flash light and lok in to see what is blocking the path.
unless there are some paper in between the teeth /blades, that need to be cleaned out.
