I have the same problem with the D-Link Router.I bought the 624M origionally and it wouldn't work so I exchanged it for the 634M. My old router worked but I thought I needed more speed and for $20 after rebates it was a good deal... Or so I thought. I too have tried changing settings without success. Then updated the firmware. Now the router cycles on and off every few seconds. I was looking for D-LInk support when I happened upon this site. Has anypne been able to make a D-Link Mimo router work?

Assuming wireless connection is enabled in the router(if you have the option), and it was set up initially through a RJ45 lead; make sure the router is not using 108 mbps streaming, as your laptop probably only has 54 mbps capability. See if you can set it to 54 mbps and re-start router.

You would set this up in the routers settings via your internet explorer programme

Yes that's what i said to do in other solution, 108 MBPS may not be supported by your laptop on 54MBPS.

    Give it a go.

If you have a problem, start a fresh, because the post you did ends up as a solution and can get missed.

The same may apply to you as other post, most recievers only accept 54MBPS connection and from a mimo router the signal transfer will be 108 or 125MBPs, so causing you to lose connectiom.

You have paid more for a router for the speed, this is not isp connection speed but transfer speeds from router to pc.

Go into your routers settings and change the transfer speed to 54MBPs if you are wireless on a laptop, or check the capabilities of your network cards supported speed.

My wireless router wont work

Run a cat5 cable from the laptop to a cat5 port on the router, open internet explorer in the address window type http://192.168.1.1 or what ever the IP address of the router once you have accessed the router create your PPPOE internet connection, enter your Internet Service Provider's username and password. Once you have done this, disconnect the cat5 cable and connect wirelessly to the router from the laptop. If all this fails press and hold the reset button on the back of the router for 10-15 seconds this will reset the router to factory defaults. connect to the wireless router and create the PPPOE connection. D-link router connection problems

I'm guessing you're saying you've left the security open on the pc's, but what about the router? You can connect to most wireless routers with a TCP/IP cable. Try that and see if you can check your wireless router's settings. It may have some security settings enabled.

My D-Link DI-634M wireless Router never worked

Hi, Like most router products, the reset is at the rear near the power jack connector. You have to use a straightened metal paper clip to press on the hole to access the small push button underneath. Do this with the power connected. Press for a couple of seconds or till the leds blink. Once done, the unit will be set to factory default settings and you will have to configure it again. If this does not work, perhaps you have tried to update the firmware which: a. did not finish; b. was not successful or c; got corrupted. The only recourse for a router with faulty firmware is get RMA & replacement from D-Link. Post back should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards.
